Bruins press conference gave me a bad taste in my mouth for the offseason. The taste of shit. At least I don't have to watch Claude Julien throw Paille and Campbell on the ice when we are down by two goals in big games.
youre giving Bruins management more credit than they deserve, if you're assuming Julien will get shit canned. I have a feeling he'll be around next season
Paille and Campbell are UFA's, iirc. I'm assuming that's what he's talking about.
Gotcha. I wouldn't blame Campbell. He's a tough customer and a good 4th liner. You could do worse. Him being on the ice in must score situations to me was Julien saying fuck you to somebody. Just not sure who.

To the fans and maybe to his players. He couldn't trust anyone to come up big when we needed to score. Lucic, Smith, Bergeron... all of them. We have a team that could be 2nd or 3rd in the conference and we underperformed. I know Peter C and Julien want to let the players off the hook, but I'm hoping Neely and Jacobs don't accept that.
It's times like these that I really appreciate how spoiled Boston fans are re: local sports. If one team is down the rest of them are doing great and contending. I don't watch the NBA but I find it hilarious the Celtics got into the playoffs and the Bruins didn't.
I haven't logged in for a while, so here's an update on how I feel:
Fuck everything.
And that Bruins press conference made things a lot worse. Chiarelli refused to own up to any fault that he may have had in this season. At least Claude kind of took on some of the blame. Campbell and Paille leaving is no surprise, it's about time. Campbell was a warrior for the B's (that broken leg incident), but quality of play didn't justify keeping him around.
The fact that there is so much chatter about Lucic being traded pisses me off. Oh, a player starting the season after coming back from an injury isn't performing as well? Sure, let's get rid of him without giving a chance.
I don't think we need to be trading pretty much the personification of what a Bruin player is; plus, he was on one of the most productive lines of the season (Looch-Spoons-Pasta).

How many people actually give a shit about the Celtics lately? Even with this clinching a playoff spot, which is hilarious with that under .500 record.

I know two people who care about the Celtics. Some people care about the Red Sox and Bruins and then everyone at least pretends to watch the Patriots. I don't think the Bruins day to day grind attracts many people. The Bruins could be better PR wise.

So, pretty much fuck Bruins management.
Lucic is going to have to go eventually. We can't afford to resign him any higher than he is. He'd be a great player to trade mid season. Looking at the payroll, I hate the Smith contract and Seidenberg contract. It doesn't really matter though because as long as the Bruins have the philosophy they've had, no one is leaving. Chiarelli is an idiot when it comes to contract negotiations.
yea i figured i could prolly wait til the 2nd round to upgrade and still get plenty of hockey to watch, just pulled the trigger on the upgrade, ready for some puck

But how do you watch Premier League without NBCS?
that's how I guarantee nobody is able to turn it on at my house
Holy hell. I can't even imagine paying for cable just to watch hockey.
I get an NHL GameCenter subscription, then just use the Hola Unblocker add-on for Chrome to avoid all the blackouts. I'm pretty sure it works during playoffs, too.

well i have a typical directv package, for whatever stupid reason nbcsn and golf channel are not part of the typical package. so just pay the $7 more a month during playoff hockey to get those channels

I used to pay 25 dollars extra just to get nhl network, nbcsn, and Comcast sports net-chicago when I lived with my mom. The 3 channels other than wgn (which we also didn't get) that hawks games are on and I had none of them with standard directv.

Oh, gotcha. Well, that makes sense then..$7 isn't too bad. Do you pay for Center Ice, too? Or do you only watch the Wild? Hockey was the only reason I wanted cable/satellite, so it came out cheaper for me to get the streaming service.

nope, no center ice, just the wild and whatever i can get on sat/sun afternoons on nbc. tell ya what, there's nothing like some tunes, a screwdriver (the drink, not the tool), and some sunday morning hockey, even though it pretty much is the same eastern conference teams every week

I'll have to try that next season. I didn't buy it this year because of the blackouts. I usually go to the bar to watch the games but I'm currently sick and drinking is not on he menu for tonight.

did my hockey pool yesterday. I thought you'd be pleased to know that if the 15 players I chose, Ovi, Backstrom, Green and Carlson were among them. SO basically if the East final ends up being Caps vs Habs, I'll be 200$ richer.
Oh my, my friend bought us tickets to game 4 at the united center Tuesday. Looks like I'll be spending a lot in beer to pay them back
that's awesome! a girl at work had a possible hook on some tickets, but sorry, i'm just not dropping $200 to go to a first round game especially. i'll spend my beer money at home i guess

Go online the night before/day of the game. I always do that. Got 200 dollar face value tickets for 135 each last season for the western conference finals. Seems there are more brokers trying to just dump them come game day for the playoffs. It helped the hawks were down 3-1 in the series but it ended up being one of the best hockey games I've ever seen. A Michal Handzus winner in triple overtime was just bonus.
