Yes, same place as lunar stage except maybe further back a little. The sound bleed is bad but I don't think its as bad as when it was the lunar. You can hear that thing all thru the campgrounds.
In pod 8's Camp Principal Vernon and my wife thought it was out neighbors. So loud!
SAME! We were im Jeff Spicoli and I heard every. single. sound. On Thursday night. I thought it was my neighbors too until I heard the DJ or whomever say "WELCOME TO THE KALLIOPE STAGE!"

We heard it every night in Groop. It didn't bother me since I was usually wiped out by the time I made it back to camp, and I can generally sleep through anything anyway.
This thing was louder than the skrilly superjam. Which is just nonsense. It made it impossible to be able to hang back and just watch a tent show. Sound in the tents is already not the best, adding this thing so close just made it worse. With that being said though, if they can perfect the sound issues by either lowering it or moving the stage all together, I think it is a really neat addition.
I was in POD 6. And it wasn't to bad there in the camp sites. But on Sunday morning I took a friend to the glass vendors over by 8 and it was much louder there.

I hung out at the Kalliope with my friends on Thursday night, after the other stages closed down, and had a blast, as did my friends. It made for a perfect late-late night attraction. Honestly, I didn't really notice the sound from it the rest of the weekend, but that might have been because I was able to get underneath This and the Other tents for some of the LN shows, which minimized the bleed. Overall, I thought it was a positive add. The energy on Thursday, with everyone dancing underneath the lasers and around the glow in the dark bug, was awesome.
The one very small positive of the Kalliope was hearing people try to pronounce it. Apparently, I'm in a small crowd of people nerdy enough to know about Greek Muses or steam organs

I too was surprised by the number of people who had no clue of how to pronounce Kalliope. It never occurred to me that some people wouldn't know.
Here's my little piece of advice for y'all. Go buy one of these, crank it up as high as it will go & put it right next to your pillow. You won't hear the Kalliope stage at all. Or anything else. At least Brad & I didn't.
dancing after darkside/kaskade until 8 am was one of my favorite memories from this year.
I was in Tent Only and it was not ideal for my hopes of regaining hearing post-Jack White. There was a decent chance that I might suffocate myself while trying to sleep with pillows sandwiching my noggin.
I stopped bringing ear plugs after my first or second Roo because there was never a need back then but I think I'll start back up again next year.
