I'll be attending Magnaball later this summer in NY. Also locally doing Neil Young at Riverbend and Forecastle on Sunday (specifically for Modest Mouse and WSP)!

Depending on how long you'll be in the area for Magnaball, I suggest doing the wine trail around Seneca Lake. There's also Two Goats Brewery not far from Watkins Glen State Park (It's just up the east side of the lake, maybe 15 minutes). It's a small shack and their beer is delightful.

Thanks for the heads up! The plan is to arrive a day or so early and check out WGSP and check out the finger lakes!
I went to Superball in 11' and the whole area is gorgeous but we didn't plan any exploring.
Anyone interested in a MMJ floor seat ticket for Wednesday 6/24 in Columbus? I'll still be there but ended up getting the 2-day ticket pass instead of buying two individual tickets and still have this one to get rid of. In addition, anyone else going to either Columbus show?
Lemme know.
Still true. But if anyone needs this ticket they can have it at this point. I just don't want it to go to waste.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

That's usually a yearly event for me, but I'll be heading to the SJU basketball season opener that night. Have you seen them before?
Nope, this'll be my first time. I'm not a huge fan or anything, but they're one of those bands where anytime they're put on I'm like "Yeah, I enjoy this".

I've only seen them once, at Wakarusa, but they were fun. Definitely a set I'd catch if no conflicts. Enjoy!

I saw them at Wakarusa in '11. I remember their set being early in the day and their guitars were giving me a headache.

Well, fuck, we were probably sitting next to each other then! I remember just heading in to find some shade, and sat down in the tent. Minus the Bear came on, and I ended up really enjoying it. Think that's how I came across Gary Clark Jr at 'roo the next year (seeking shade early).

These United States was an early rock show I enjoyed at that year's Waka. I wonder what happened to those guys? Gary Clark killed it at the cafe at Roo in '11. I skipped out on Deer Tick early to catch it since I had always enjoyed watching Gary play in Austin over the years.

They're a really fun live band. I've seen them around 6 times, and I'd say 4 of the 6 were pretty great shows. Usually has a good weekend party vibe to it.
The latest recorded material is kind of weak, but the early stuff (especially the finger taping style on guitar) is awesome. I think they're touring an anniversary of their album Menos el Oso, so the setlist should be pretty strong.
