I was looking at the twitter today. One of the local sports guys was reporting on a press conference or interview with Coach Jones.
- No players have been ruled academically ineligible for the fall. 3 or 4 have to go to summer school to work on degree related classes. The team GPA is 2.75. - No starting QB has been named yet or will be named in the near future. - 4 different NFL head coaches have reached out to Coach Jones and remarked about how players this year from Tennessee have stood out from other rookies. They stated they are always early to meetings and fill notebooks during the meetings with notes. They are first to practice and last to leave and consistently ask coaching what they can do to help the team. - As sang_xcx said in the NFL thread, Tiny Richardson's draft stock fell due to him failing physicals with multiple teams due to his knee issues. - He singled out Curt Maggitt (who was injured for all of last season) as being the best leader on the team "by far".

That's interesting, I want to say the majority of the team here takes at least a couple summer school classes in order to take less classes during the Fall and still be on track to graduate. I figured that was a common practice everywhere.

I think the message was that those 3 or 4 have to go in order to stay on track. I am sure other players are choosing to do it of their own volition.

Well, that's one less option at QB. It's not 100% official yet, but it seems like what is going to happen. Nothing concrete has been put out yet as to why he is leaving. He was #2 on the depth chart before the spring game, but Dobbs (the #3) tore it up in the spring game and is a player Jones recruited. Ferguson may have started to think that his chances at starting in the long run were diminished due to this.

Tennessee 2014 schedule
W Aug. 30 Utah State W Sept. 6 Arkansas State L Sept. 13 at Oklahoma L Sept. 27 at Georgia L Oct. 4 Florida W Oct. 11 Chattanooga W Oct. 18 at Ole Miss L Oct. 25 Alabama L Nov. 1 at South Carolina W Nov. 15 Kentucky L Nov. 22 Missouri W Nov. 29 at Vanderbilt
I am going with 6-6 again. Maybe I'll actually be right this time. People keep talking about Utah St like they are a real trap game, but it being the home opener with the crazy amount of hype going on this season gives us the edge. Oklahoma is going to a rough game especially with it being at Normal. My highest hopes is that nobody is going to get injured. Georgia will probably be rough too. I don't think they are going to drop off much from last season despite losing Murray. Florida is an interesting one. They have a new O coordinator and Muschamp is coaching for his job, so they could be extra dangerous. On the other hand, coaches have crumbled under that kind of pressure and they got worse as the season went on last year. Alabama is Alabama... enough said. We beat South Carolina last year, but this game is in Columbia and they still have that ridiculous running back. Kentucky sucks. Missouri is another one that can go either way as they lost some big pieces to their team. I refuse to mark Vanderbilt as a loss regardless, but I think the freshman class will be the difference. We had #5. They had #49. It's a little bit of a difference.
W Aug 30 vs West Virginia (in Atlanta) W Sep 06 vs Florida Atlantic W Sep 13 vs Southern Miss W Sep 20 vs Florida W Oct 04 at Ole Miss W Oct 11 at Arkansas ? Oct 18 vs Texas A&M ? Oct 25 at Tennessee ? Nov 08 at LSU W Nov 15 vs Miss State W Nov 22 vs Western Carolina W Nov 29 vs Auburn
The three game stretch between A&M and LSU is going to be interesting. A&M is an unknown, and I refuse to pick the LSU game any year. Will we beat Tennessee? Probably, but based on the law of averages, we have to lose to them eventually. Auburn's really an unknown, as well, but I'll never pick us to lose that game.

@hljott, be a man and put a W/L over those question marks.
custeph, Clemson and Baylor are only schools with 3,000-yard passer, 1,000-yard receiver and 1,000-yard rusher each of the last three seasons. (from Gameday's twitter)
Another year, another backloaded schedule. I'm thinking 6-6, maybe 7-5. Not bad, but not great.

At least he was brave enough to make a prediction for his team.
I don't believe brave is the word you're looking for. Uga fans predict undefeated seasons every year. Clemson will lose 2 or 3 games.
Just do your fucking schedule prediction.

Lot of Clemson fans around here eh....should be a fun start to the season!
Aug. 30 Clemson -W - our turn since we're at home Sept. 13 at South Carolina -W - Spurrier's visor goes airborne at least 6 times Sept. 20 Troy -W Sept. 27 Tennessee - W Oct. 4 Vanderbilt -W - revenge for the egg we laid last year Oct. 11 at Missouri - W - an improved defense should at least attempt to get in somebody's way Oct. 18 at Arkansas - W Nov. 1 Florida (Jacksonville) - W - Muschamp gets carried out by police for attemping to strangle one of his players. Nov. 8 at Kentucky - W Nov. 15 Auburn - W - I will never pick Auburn to beat us, and there will not be a miracle 4th and 30 TD pass Nov. 22 Charleston Southern - W Nov. 29 Georgia Tech - LOL W
Most worried about Clemson, @sc and @missouri. First game of the season with a new QB and new D coordinator, who knows what to expect. We've played awful in Columbia recently, and Mizzou pantsed us last year in Athens.
