Blackfish deserved at least a nod. I really enjoyed it. The most important question for me is…is it finally Leo's year? I think not, but time will tell.
I am a typical girl and am enjoying watching everyone on te red carpet. Jennifer Lawrence just wiped out in the most perfect way ever. I freaking love her... Hahaha
They are this Sunday and I didn't see a thread for this. Let's see your thoughts and predictions.
I saw all the nominated Best Picture Nominees this year and this is how I would rank them.
1. 12 Years A Slave 2. Gravity 3. American Hustle 4. Nebraska 5. Her 6. Wolf of Wall Street 7. Philomena 8. Captain Phillips 9. Dallas Buyers Club
Director: Cuaron over McQueen. Both were amazing but for very different reasons. Best Actor: McConaughey will win but I thought Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo were better. Best Actress: Cate Blanchett should and will win, although nothing this year was extraordinary. Supporting Actor: I know Leto will win but he gave my least favorite performance of the 5. Supporting Actess: JLaw over Lupita Nyong'o. June Squibb was fantastic in Nebraska.
I wish Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Fruitvale Station, and Blue Caprice would have gotten more appreciation. Blackfish not even being nominated for Best Documentary was a joke.
I haven't seen #'s 1,4, and 7... but Her is my favorite of the year.
Did anyone else hear Kevin Spacey encouraging someone to "drop a boob" for that big group photo? I think it was J Law's suggestion, but Spacey was all over it.

Yea, I think my girl suggested it. She's awesome like that.
I'm really glad that 'Her' won an award, and I'm glad Gravity won best sound.
Leo has shit luck, every year he's nominated he's up against near impossible odds. An argument could be made for Leo or McConaughey and in the end both would have been justified have won.
I still haven't seen 12 Years, so I can't comment on that (Wolf would have been my pick), but I'll be watching it soon. Same for 20 Feet From Stardom. I was certain Act of Killing was going to win, I'll definitely need to check out 20 Feet soon.
