Now in its fifteenth year, Clean Vibes has earned its place as a staple within the festival community, having worked at over 165 festivals. Years before greening efforts became the norm at festivals, Clean Vibes had formed a team of dedicated music lovers who were committed to reducing the impact of outdoor festivals on the environment. At the core of Clean Vibes’ efforts is a focus on educating and engaging festival attendees in the clean up process.
Focused on action, Clean Vibes always walks the walk when it comes to greening. At the 2013 Bonnaroo Music Festival, Clean Vibes diverted over 730,000 pounds of the waste produced by the event from the local landfill, including over 240,000 pounds of compost being processed on site and used for festival landscaping. Through their involvement in festivals including The Great GoogaMooga, Tortuga, Hangout, Delfest, Mountain Jam, Taste of Country, High Sierra, Camp Bisco, Forecastle, All Good, Gathering of the Vibes, Life is Good, Outside Lands, TomorrowWorld and Treasure Island, Clean Vibes diverted over 1.4 MILLION pounds of event waste in 2013.
2014 is looking to be another busy season for Clean Vibes. Following up on their impressive success at the 2013 Outside Lands festival, where they diverted 84% of all festival waste from the landfill, Clean Vibes will be looking to divert waste at many more events in the San Francisco Bay area. Clean Vibes will be opening a west coast branch of the company, with hopes of helping events in San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area improve upon their already impressive diversion efforts.
