Ohhh good thread! Over Christmas I was telling my husband that I had never had brandy as an adult and wanted to try some, but had no idea what to buy. When I was a kid my great grandmother swore she had a long healthy life because she had a swig of brandy every night before bed And if I had an upset stomach, she would give me brandy sugar and warm water - I loved it and somehow always had an upset tummy when I went there......
So any suggestions as to where to start would be great. Nothing too pricey please, but it doesn't have to be the cheapest either It doesn't have to be cognac, just any brandy.

Remy Martin’s venerable Louis XIII’s, “Black Pearl". It's good stuff.

I usually stick with Remy Martin VSOP, it's pretty damn good. I've had Remy Martin Louis XIII once, at the time it was $100 a shot. Even though it was good VSOP is not bad.
