You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
I am with what Delicious Meatball Sub said a couple pages back. There's not really a way to pick without more information. Both make sense. It's the trouble with clues.

Clues went from being close to the line of impossible to being able to get 2-3 solid choices the first day. A happy medium would be nice. Im more of a fan of the written clues just because they cause more of a stir then a picture. Seems like every year is different so who knows maybe they will all be pics, maybe the artist get bigger as we go again. Thursday clues could be harder since we have 5 days to discuss.
Could you imagine the Haiku clues last year all being discussed in one thread. That would even send AC interns to the loony bin.
How did the thread work last year with the clues? Was there a new thread for each clue?
Yeah. A new thread for each clue since each clue doesn't necessarily get worked out before a new one comes out. If we tried to discuss all of them in one thread, it would get ridiculous.

I was just saying that with the "confirmation" (I'm well aware that it could not be true but it at least seems legitimate with the clue and the timing of the post) and the clue alluding to them heavily, we could probably consider this one solved.

My objection to using a picture of Portland as a clue for a band from Georgia stands. SK makes way more sense. That's not to say these clues were designed by Alan Turing or something and Washed Out can't possibly be the answer, Sleater Kinney is just a better answer.

let me get this straight, the picture shows a star over Portland Oregon alluding to portlandia. the theme song from portlandia is done by washed out. the tv pictured in the clue is an old worn out tv. but somehow sleater kinney makes more sense? what is the purpose of the tv and how it is pictured in the case that it would be sleater kinney? I'm not trying to be argumentative here I just don't understand the purpose of state of the tv if it were to be sk.

The star of Portlandia is in Sleater Kinney.
I know the connection, what's the point of the tv with the messed up antenna then and how does that fit in with sleater kinney
WAIT! Does Portland have a radio station? If it does, then this could be hinting at "Tv on the Radio", even tho, technically it would be a radio ( station in Portland) on the TV.
The worn out tv you keep referring to is one of the most ridiculous stretches I've seen posted.
then you should look up past roo clue guesses
The background is orange. Tv channel. Channel orange. Frank ocean CONFIRMED See what I did there. If you stretch you can literally make anything work. A broken antenna on a tv equalling washed out is just ridiculous,
