But doesn't the radio station saying it's a band imply it can't be a portlandia comedy act?
I didn't hear the Roo Radio quote, but I understood it to be along the lines of... the picture does not reference a band name. Semantics are everything with this kind of stuff so I'm just trying to think of every loophole. Plus the IFC/Roo connection. Portlandia just feels right. Also Sleater Kinney.
to the people thinking portlandia, do you really think the first roo clue would be a comedy act? in the past couple of years I don't remember any clues being for a comedy act. maybe aziz was confirmed through a clue one year but I can't remember. washed out seems to make the most sense to me. the tv has a broken antenna meaning it's "worn out" "run down" = washed out. I mean "it all feels right" with this one. U C WUT I DID THERE?!?!?!?!!!

I've seen Portlandia live and they could do a "band" set, though not in a traditional sense. They'd do SK songs and mix in comedy and Portlandia TV show stuff but Fred plays a bunch of instruments so they'll bring out Eleanor Friedberger and they'll all do some Patti Smith covers or something.
She and Him would be great! They did put out Volume 3 last year (albeit before Bonnaroo).
As for the Portlandia talk, would they do a Roo Clue for a non-musical act? Honest question. This is my first Roo Clue experience as I came in late in the game last year.

I think they have very minimally done it in the past. It's worth noting that every year seems to be different with clues, so history does not necessarily mean anything.
im going with washed out. btw... seems like it will actually be possible to figure out the clues this year (based on this one which doesnt seem too complicated) but we'll see.
I think Sleater Kinney is the most exciting choice, which could be affecting my judgment. And, Washed Out seems to make just as much sense as SK and Portlandia. I am skeptical it is anything other than those three.
checked out a couple sleater kinney songs and I don't see what's so special about them. had no idea they existed until the whole reuniting on stage with pearl jam thing. what's the best song to change my mind about them?
