Can I vote on this if I haven't voted in previous months? If so...
Ben Howard - I Forget Where We Were
Thought Our Love was interesting, maybe it'll grow on me if I listen to it a couple more times. Same with You're Dead! actually now that I think about it. I don't think anyone can judge those albums off one listen, that wouldn't really be fair. RTJ2 honestly didn't meet my expectations, but it still had some songs I'll be playing for awhile. That being said, Ben Howard reigns supreme. If I HAD to vote on one that's already on the list at the top of the page, I guess it'd have to be Flying Lotus' You're Dead!
I think doing an album of the year poll would be awesome, but it would be a lot of work. Idk if anyone is up to it. If it were to be done, I think the best way to do it would be through a point system. Each voter would have to give a list of their top 5 or 3 albums of the year, ranked. Then you would reverse order the points (#3 album gets 1 pt, #2 - 2 pt, #1 - 3 pt). Album with the most points is your champion.
Edit: Also, I think if this thread continues into next year, we should have a date each month that the polls open. Any voting done before then would not be rocognized.
point system is how all other good forums do AotY / Top Albums / whatever lists.

I feel like everyone voting for RTJ must not have gotten around to listening to the second half of the album. Or any of the verses El-P raps on. Ya fuckboys.
I can't say that El-P is bad on the album, but I think there is a pretty clear difference between the quality of their verses on the album. Killer Mike owns all the best moments on the album.

My complaint with the first RTJ album was that El-P clearly couldn't hold his own. I think he does a much better job here. Obviously the edge goes to Mike but I think the gap is far less wider. I'm on board with tracks 8-10 being forgettable but I liked Angel Duster and Early from the back half.
While I'm on board with Mike having almost all the best moments, the most memorable line is far and away from Zack De La Rocha's verse. "I'm miles ahead of you, you can sip my bitches brew." How on earth is that the first time that's been though of?

Crown and Angel Duster are both excellent and the transition from All Due Respect>Love Again is perfect.
