Skrillex is not the terrible artists some like to make him out to be. He has a lot more musicianship than other dj's.
I honestly expect to see some singing from him at the super jam, if not just his dubsteppish song "father said". I'm in no way saying he's a great singer by any means but I would not be surprised to see him play more than one thing throughoug (i.e. singing, djing, guitar)

Finally listened to The War On Drugs. I like it a lot, I was worried because the first track of the album really didn't do it for me, but after that it really seemed to pick up. I still wouldn't put it ahead of Real Estate or The Men on my list this month. It's length is definitely an issue, some of the songs do drag on and the album as a whole is a bit long.
The War On Drugs album is quickly distancing itself from the pack. I think it will easily be a top 10, likely top 5 for the year for me. I never could get into Slave Ambient, but I'm eating this album up.
I've listened to a lot of albums from this month so I can finally participate in this thread, right now my rankings would be:
Eagulls- s/t The Men-Tomorrow's Hits Sisyphus- S/t Pharrell Williams- G I R L Real Estate- Aas Skrillex- Recess
Going to give Future Islands and War on Drugs a listen tonight, I doubt either will knock Eagulls out of the top spot though. Also, I don't get the Real Estate hype, I thought Atlas was pretty boring
Now that Liars are coming out with their 7th bad@ss album, which is their 2nd best and most accessible, can they start getting the recognization they deserve as one of the greats of the last 15 years?

i really like the drive by truckers, but i feel it comes up short compared to some of their previous albums. although I am a big DBT fan, so its to be expected. I think kurt vile really "prepared" me for the war on drugs. that album is my front runner. never listened to the men until this month, and its moving up.

What's your favorite album of theirs?
Sisterworld does it for me personally, although Mess is currently ballin on so many levels.

Drum's Not Dead is my favorite Liars album and I think it may be my 2nd favorite album of all time. I love that most of their album has such a distinct personality, with completely different styles, but still remains uniquely Liars. Sisterworld is the one album where they did not make as drastic of a left turn and just displayed a culmunation of the everything great they've done up to that point. It is an excellent record.
And, yes, it's true. Mess is ballin out of control. In this post-LCD Soundsystem, post-Chill Wave world, I have gotten to the point where electro-pop makes me gag. The proliferation of it and how it is taking over indie rock to make this new, waterdowned genre called Indie has made me resent it all. And then, when I thought it all has become too much, Liars comes along with Mess and gives electo-bangers a shot in @ss. Unless I'm completely missing something, there is no reason why "Mess on a Mission" can't be a contender for song of the summer. I'm not saying Mess is an electro-pop album. However, they employ many of the same sounds, elements, and techniques to create tracks of instant satisfaction. But, what they do better over the course of the record, is they balance it all out and keep it interesting by being their weird, noisey, experimental selves. I just cannot say enough good things about Mess. In fact, here's my vote for the month (it will be very high on my AOTY list, too):
And while I am ranting about great albums...I'm not sure when It's Album Time by Todd Terje comes out, but that record is the sh*t.
Todd Terje is next month, and it's great
Is the cover of that Liars albums one of those Nick Cave sound suits? I've been trying to figure that out.
Now that you introduced me into Nick Cave's work, my life will not be complete until I see one of his exhibits. But, no, this is not his work. It has been an absolute joy to be a Liars fan on facebook to see what they come up with this ball of yarn. Here is the explanation give to MTV:
"It's an image they've been using in the four long months leading up to Mess' March 25 release. The wig-like wad of yarn has been the darling of their Instagram account. They pose with it, they take it to the playground, they put it in their underwear and, most recently, they plaster it over traffic signs and billboards all over Los Angeles.
And apart from being a promotional prop, it's also a chaotic yet graceful image that's found throughout Mess' 12 tracks, like the aptly titled lead single, "Mess on a Mission."
"I think right off the bat it was wanting it to be a very vibrant visual sort of cover to complement the music too, which we felt is very vibrant and more based on aesthetics than this heavy concept we've had in the past," drummer Julian Gross said. "We always get a theme of something and then just keep on playing with it and see how far you can expand this idea and theme. When we agreed on the cover image, it became fun too for all of us to explore how you can expand this idea and how far you can get with it and other ways to manipulate it to sort of create this identity through the whole thing."

Liars - Mess
I agree with everything you said regarding Drum's Not Dead and Sisterworld. The latter is definitely an expansion from their previous effort Liars, which I'm also very much in love with. But tracks like "Scissor", "No Barrier Fun", "Here Comes All the People", "Scarecrows On a Killer Slant", "Proud Evolution" and "The Overachievers" were all so huge for me during a pretty difficult period in my life, so I guess that's why it hits home so much for me.
Anyway, the song "It Fit When I Was a Kid" remains a constant banger for me to this today.
There just isn't a piece of Liars music that I don't vibe with. This band is the answer to everything. So glad there are some other Liars diehards up in here. I've been dying for them to make a trek down South during one of their tours for many years, but they seem to not want anything to do with it.

If my unanswered emails over the years about them coming to the south are any indication, I would say that there must me some kind of vendetta.
I was in a weird place when Drum's Not Dead came out. I was heavily into a substance that I should have only been an aquatence with. I didn't have a clear path for my life. I remember travelling to a multiple hundred mile destination, paranoid as all hell, and the worst storm I had ever seen hit. I was listening to that record, but as the storm got more intense, I tried finding the news on the radio. All I heard was to take cover and then there was static. I drove to the lowest valley I can find in an neighborhood, and when my truck was rocking, and everything that was not anchored down was flying around me, I debated running to the nearest household for cover, but I decided I wouldn't make it alive. But, the storm subsided...
It took me years to appreciate the mood of Drum's Not Dead. The bangers, as you and I see it, sucked me in, but I always knew there was something more. There's an anxiety to Drum's Not Dead that seems match my own, and then grasps me only to calm me down. Besides mushrooms, there is nothing else more theraputic to my mind than Drum's Not Dead. I currently have a very stressful job that makes it hard for me to sleep on Sundays. You better bet your ass that Drum's Not Dead gets me where I need to be to fall asleep.
Not only do Liars experiment with mood music, they also kick f*ckin @ss. Yes, I am a Liars fluffer, but I will challenge anybody, (cough, longinus), to a playlist battle for the most killer set of bad@ssery from any one, single band.
