Sadly, the new Moonface is another piano-ballad EP.
Sadly because it's piano-ballad or because it's only an EP? I loved Julia With Blue Jeans On. Highly recommend seeing it live, I enjoyed it just as much as the Wolf Parade show I saw.
I mean, it was pretty good, just not as good as the stuff he did with Saiinai, Sunset Rubdown, Wolf Parade, Frog Eyes, Swan Lake, or that marimba album. But yeah, other than all those it's probably his best album.

I think Organ Music > Julia > Marimba as far as solo goes. Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown are in a league of their own. Never got into Frog Eyes or Swan Lake and I still haven't listened to Heartbreaking Bravery.
Actually better than I thought it would be, but goddamn if DFA1979 isn't some secret buttrock. This album would have sounded perfect slotted right inbetween cuts from Static X and Hed P.E. on early 2000's "hard rock" radio.
Completely crap. What a trainwreck. This was not a good month for releases from early-Aughts icons who have spent the last ten+ years living off the collective goodwill generated by their earliest releases.

Oh shit, forgot about Organ Music. I prefer that to Julia as well. I think I'm the only person who likes that Marimba album.
Ps: Pitchfork will regret that 6.5 for Raury's album by this time next year.
I think that Raury is a very interesting and exciting new artist to look out for in the next year. Having said that, I thought his "mixtape" was a little scattered and all over the place so I can understand that rating. It definitely has some high points though.

One came in Wednesday, about 12 hours after the deadline. If it was like the 1st or 2nd vote for an album and didn't affect anything, I would have counted it. But that wasn't the case here.
The other came from a poster, where his vote for Spoon was their first post on Inforoo. Suspicious?

I was joking about a recount, but in light of all of that, yea it definitely should be called a tie.

Oh Christ, you're really not going to count a vote because it came in a few hours after the deadline?

Didn't CKS with her modpowers figure out that 1 post guy was a different person?
