I'm fine with medium steak, I just grew up having it medium-well so I'm more used to it. I won't budge on bananas, though.
Abra grew up with well-done steaks, but she realized the error of her ways. I have hope for your salvation as well.
When I first met Josh, he told me that he didn't like steak, and I thought he was a crazy person, but it just turned out that he had only ever had well-done steaks. Now he understands.

Me and Abra had the exact same conversation except with the roles reversed.
There may not be one right answer, but there sure as f*ck is a wrong one.
FRAUD!
These quotes come from Abra's facebook page:
"In an effort to eat more healthy, we cut beef out of our diets at home"
describing Dave:
"you made two vegetarian meals this week that were good."
I can still eat steak when we go out. She actually had me make them for her birthday dinner, you facebook creeping bastard. Also, how would not eating steak everyday affect the fact that I think eating them well-done is an abomination?
Edit: Secondarily, if you read the whole thing, it was just one and that was because we had exactly zero meat in the house.

Me too! Well done was the only way I had steak until I started dating Brad. Even then it's what I would order because it's all I knew. Now I order a steak medium.

I grew up on well done steaks and burgers. Much of my family doesn't have a problem with steaks being burnt to sh*t (or close to it) for some bizarre reason, and I didn't know any better. I had thought getting it south of medium was uncommon.
Only in the last few years have I known the error of those ways. Now I go with medium.
I had a medium rare pork burger (with bacon on it of course) at a place in Riverside called The Salted Pig. Even I was nervous about that. Fortunately, I was fine and it was delicious.
Dave's new straight-edge veganism is making him short-fused and abusive. Lack of primal protein. Someone slip the Bear a T-bone quick.
MMmm a good medium steak with the blood mixing around in the potatoes! And it's not like we really ate beef other than hamburger at home anyway. Way too much hamburger.
I grew up doing only well done. That's how most people here in Mississippi eat them. My dad told me to always get it well done because any color and I'm likely to get sick from germs.
So imagine my surprise....as an adult....in Arizona...I find out that well done is frowned up. After much thought I ordered Medium and cringed the entire time. My buddy couldn't believe how much I was freaking out but that moment was going against 25 years of training.
I said all that to say depends on my mood I'll go between medium-well and medium. It DOES taste better. The steaks I used to eat would be well done and covered in A1.
I don't think I"m ready for rare yet. That's just a bit TOO much for me.
Jeebus. I haven't eaten beef in five years and even I know the answer to this one. I was a medium-rare guy back in my day - the more reputable the place, the closer to the rare side of things I'd go, and vice-versa. Applebee's? Medium. Capital Grille? 60 seconds post-mooing. (Burgers are a different beast, however).
Anything above medium and you might as well check your tastebuds at the door. At that point, just get chicken.
And Dave Maynar... vegan? Did you all conspire in PMs just to troll me?
