Alright. Neon Bible starts off well and is really strong through Black Wave / Bad Vibrations. However, the rest of the album, with the exceptions of (Antichrist Television Blues) and No Cars Go, just drags on. I think even just re-ordering the tracks could make the overall album a more enjoyable experience.
There's no way we could ever replicate what happened last night. Holy shhhheeeiiiiiiiiettttttt.
Except for a situation outside with some summers breeze in a sacs cutting the line (omg a fight almost broke out!) shortly before doors, last night was perfection. there was a loophole with the security forming the line and a lot of people were taking advantage and sneaking in.
The highlight for me was definitely "Normal Person" and "Here Comes the Nighttime". The energy was so high. cgebert wasn't kidding, it was a huge dance party, everyone was moving. We were dead center like 5th-6th people back. It was crazy. Lots of jumping up and down, lots of screaming, and just great vibes. Usually I have to travel 2000 miles away to Manchester TN to get those vibes.
I remember thinking: "this is like if I was at Bonnaroo, seeing a headlining band on a tent stage, and I'm at the front."
Did I mention that Arcade Fire KILLED it?!?!?!?! The songs from the new album really are great. And the setlist last night was pleasantly different than the other warm up shows in Brooklyn Miami and Montreal. We got a Devo cover and Headlights Look Like Diamonds. Also they played Neighbourhoods 3 (Power Out) in the beginning of the setlist. Took me way off guard and sent chills down my spine. Right before the thundering opening, Win said something to the tune "Let's go! It's Halloween! We're not f-cking around!"
Very excited for the forthcoming world tour. This is gonna be a fun one.
I agree with everything you said. That concert was insane. I must have been right near you in line/the venue. I was about 5 or 6 rows back a little to the left. Also, in line I was like one loop ahead from that fight. I would hardly say a fight almost broke out, I'm pretty sure it was a full on fight at one point, it was pretty crazy. And I was shocked at how many people were there prior to doors. I would say 50% of the total venue was waiting outside before doors are open, which is insane.
And I completely agree with the Bonnaroo vibes. Honestly I haven't been too much of a fan of the crowds at most LA shows I've been to (tend to just kinda stand there a lot of the time), but this show was absolutely nothing like that. Only complaint is the fairly short set, but I expected that based on the rest of the shows. I'm really hoping I can catch them up close in a festival setting and try to relive that show!
Also, holy shit that was the most exhausting show I have been to. Just non stop jumping/dancing. Should be my cardio for the week...
I didn't really have anything special on. I was wearing jungle-ish clothes. I am a guy and had a skirt on, so that is probably the most obvious thing haha. I just kinda threw something together last minute since I decided I didn't want to do formal and die from overheating (which was a great decision). I didn't see anyone in a black morph suit though, at least not that I remember.

so so so so so good. I just got around to listening to the new one. I can't even get past porno. I was listening to the whole album, heard porno, and have now listened to that song like 9 times in a row.
I think part 2 is unbelievable. Much better than part 1, and I think part 1 is great. Part 2 is just a masterpiece. Awful Sound, It's Never Over, Porno, and Afterlife are all phenomenal songs.
Just picked up the vinyl. Flashbulb Eyes is track 2 on Side A, and We Exist is track 1 on Side B, or number 4. Then when I downloaded the mp3 version, We Exist is track 2 and Flashbulb Eyes is 3. Very interesting and curious as to why the switch.
This throws me off everytime, when I listen to the vinyl at home, and the mp3 in my car.
On a sad note, over the weekend when flipping sides of the record, it slipped out of my hands and fell and scraped along the edges of my player & table. Side A is now ruined

Wasn't a big fan of Disc 2 for awhile. Started to listen more and finally Porno grew on me. First disc is still my fav. Normal People, Here Comes the Night Time, We Exist, along with the title track, can't be beat.
I like every song, but my faves from each side are Here Comes the Night and It's Never Over. I too was initially kinda annoyed by the Joan of Arc song and thought it was clearly the weakest link on the album, but after the 3rd or 4th listen...I dig them sh*ts.

Flashbulb Eyes is awful.
So is your opinion! ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Flashbulb Eyes is a cool song and very relevant to the facebook, instagram, turd tagging social network'd world that we live in now.
You know what? After listening to everything several times through, I think I still like disc one better. And in fact, I have grown to love the title track even more now after hearing everything else. My favorite song on the album has changed several times. First it was "Here Come's the Nighttime" Then it was "Normal Person." Now I think it's "Reflektor," although I see it being "Awful Sound" soon.
This is my favorite video so far from it.
EDIT: Normal Person is my favorite song of the year. Can't wait to see it live.
