I thought Kendrick was good, but (amazingly) Imagine Dragons was far more entertaining than his DJ was.
I will agree with you on that. I was seriously impressed
Me too, tho when their singer came to the front with Kendrick and started screaming out the chorus, throwing leg kicks and just highly energetic, I legit thought it was Macklemore. He just kinda looked goofy Other than that one moment, I loved it,
1. Kendrick Lamar (with Imagine Dragons) 2. Beyonce (with Jay Z) 3. Stevie Wonder (with Daft Punk and Smokey the Bear hat Pharrell) 4. Trent Reznor (with QotSA, Dave Grohl, and Lindsey Buckingham) 5. Macklemore (what exactly does Ryan Lewis do?)
Honorable Mentions: Taylor Swift, who looked very adult and very beautiful Katy Perry I guess Paul McCartney
I don't think any of my picks won the award I wanted them to win. I'm upset that Kendrick was completely shut out and that Macklemore (while totally deserving of Best New Artist and should've won Best Song) won all the Hip Hop and Rap categories.
Also, anyone else get the obligatory "definition of marriage" Facebook posts popping up after the Same Love performance? It's so lame when about 40 couples (straight couples, interracial couples, gay couples, lesbian couples) are married on live television and everyone in the audience is clapping and/or crying, yet people get so upset about it "destroying the sanctity of my marriage." Really? Those people being in love is hurting YOUR marriage?
Few other odds and ends: Tig Notaro got totally boned not winning best comedy album. It was made all the worse by Kathy Griffen telling a bunch of shitty Justin Beiber jokes during her acceptance speech.
Also Vampire Weekend seemed pissed their award was relegated to the pre-show. They didn't even bother to wear suits or give an acceptance speech.
I can't get over the tragedy that is Macklemore winning Rap album of the year over GKMC, and Rap Song of the year over New Slaves.
Drake won it last year so you shouldn't be expecting too much.
At least Drake can be taken somewhat seriously. And there wasn't such a clear cut number one like there was this year. And I'm not sure if this is the right place to say it. But that song Same Love is absolute garbage

Yea, it seems like everyone gets offended by everything nowadays. And if they aren't directly offended...they pick something apart to be offended about, like in this article. The "faux outrage" is something I can't stand.
Though it does kinda remind me about how some people continually bring up/point out how Bonnaroo only likes old white men

I get being pissed that Macklemore beat Kendrick, but you really have to bend over backward to distill RAM into "veteran white group playing retro-styled black dance music with African-Americans as side musicians"
Nile Rodgers was not a side musician on that album.
