This is one of my favorites songs of this year and it happens to be over 10 min. It sounds like if Pop. 1280 and Sunburned Hand of the Man did a song together. All around tomf*ckery and completely badd@ss.
Was a HUGE fan of Yes when I was a teenager. You could choose just about any of their classics, but they are sometimes self-indulgent.
Here's a favorite of mine. A bit of a deep cut, if the first song on an album qualifies as a deep cut, from Dire Straits. I always felt this song was the perfect blend of piano and guitar, and showcased Mark Knopfler beautifully. A little like The Eagles' "Last Resort," which is too short to make the list.
