Wham!/George Michael Saves The Day (first 3 albums) Lady Gaga Billy Squier Fleetwood Mac Disco as a general genre Ska as a general genre Justin Timberlake Beyonce Rihanna The first KOL album is a gosh darn masterpiece.
70s KISS. Alive II was the first record I ever owned.
Holy shit me too!! I got that and Destroyer for christmas when I was 4. I had a cool uncle! He took me to my first concert - KISS Dynasty Tour 1979!
As far as bands I like that people hate - The Residents immediately spring to mind. I can't really think of anything more mainstream that I dig that is widely reviled. I still thoroughly enjoy listening to my old W.A.S.P. albums.
I love everything until before the plane crash, Simple Kind of Man, Tuesdays Gone, Ballad of Curtis Lowe, They Call me the Breeze, Freebird (best southern rock guitar solo ever) etc.....
I knew if I didn't bother to look the spelling up someone would go all pedantic, cut me a break I was on a conference call.
I would say that at least half of my friends are at best tolerant to them, the other half sing along Simple Kind of Man at the top of their lungs with me when we are drunk like proper southern men.
Kings of Leon. I don't get why people hate on KOL so much. They've been a great live band both times I've seen them and they continue to put out great music even though it doesn't sound like their first couple records.
I mean this could be any band really, people love to hate. But anyway:
The Offspring Jack Johnson Ska System of a Down
KISS, ok I don't love em so to say but my dad took me to see them for my 1st concert when I was 10 so that was a really cool experience
whatever happened to ska music? I used to love the shiz out of some of the ska/punk/pop stuff like Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Save Ferris..

They're still around Rebelution and Slightly Stoopid are really good it's just harder to find. I'd recommend Mike Pinto he's not as popular but he's very good if you like that style
every cheesy, terrible '80s song ever made and/or band ever formed. pretty much. I love them all. Toto (I've never actually looked this up, but always imagined it was just one dude with big hair and a synthesizer keyboard). Paula Abdul. Men at Work.
also, like others, Taylor Swift. can't help it. even if she annoys me as a person (how many times can you possibly be surprised that you won the award? spoiler: you have at least a 25-50% chance for all of them because you are nominated. it's not like you go to an awards show just to see everyone else and they call your name out of nowhere), I will always sing along if I hear one of her songs. Phillip Phillips. Mumford, Lumineers. Ke$ha. she's so dirty and gross and all of her songs sound the same but they still make me want to go out to the club and tear it up, they just do. Green Day. and Dave Matthews will always have a special place in my heart. I've seen him a few times, and one of my fave shows ever was a DMB concert my junior year of high school because I went with my entire group of best friends and had the most amazing time.
