Radiohead, Arcade Fire, MMJ, Wilcoma, LCD Soundsystem, every EDM artist except for Ghostland Observatory. Deal with it.
Two of those get a chance to change my mind next month at Americanarama
Man, if Americanarama can't change your mind about Dylan & MMJ, nothin' will! Granted, I was already a Jacket & Wilco fan, so last night's show didn't change my mind about them. (If you've never experienced either of them live because you didn't care for them, I'm guessing their show might change that. It sure as hell did for me at Jacket's 'Roo '08 set.) Buuuuut...I've never cared for Dylan's music in general and his gravelly voice in particular; seeing him in that setting was the right environment to make me REEEEALLY appreciate him. Still not a huge fan, but it was a damn good show.

I like bob dylan. Re-read.
I saw some of MMJ's set at roo 2 years ago. Boring. Then I headed over to primus, who slayed.

Gotcha...missed the Wilcoma part!
Primus. Ugh. Now that's another band I just canNOT get into! Claypool is one badasss bassist but... yeah. Not my thang.
I must say I am pleasantly surprised that we have made it to four pages and Rush has yet to come up once. Maybe you all just haven't thought of them yet. Or, wait, it says "loved bands." Maybe no one thinks they qualify then. Either way - carry on.

abrakapokus saw Rush for free last year. She was really amazed about how many people she talked to in the crowd who were crazy for them.
The thread doesn't say "bands you hate" it says "bands that you don't like". And in that regards, I agree with the Beatles. I have just never been able to get into them. I understand the brilliance in a lot of their songs/albums, especially Sgt. Peppers, however they have just never stuck with me. I really don't know why, but I just can't get into them.
The title of the thread says "don't like", but the first post leads with "I cannot stand these three acts, because I can't stand them. And I've tried. What bands fall into this category for you?", so I can see how someone could think it implies a strong dislike/hate for the bands in question. That is why I didn't put the Beatles. I don't like them, but I wouldn't put them in a "can't stand" category.
I agree with that. I don't hate them, and I don't see how anyone could, however I am not a fan.
I like the Alabama shakes but we all know what will happen when Brittany realizes how much money she can make with musicians who are as talented as she is at singing. listen to her on the Supetjam and the Bustle in your hedgerow downloads. those musicians are so much better than the rest of the Alabama shakes. with the right backing band Brittany could headline bonnaroo next year easy in my opinion, with the shakes it could take years for the rest of the band to catch up to her.
Ok sorry I know music isn't always about the money but she is so much more talented than the pieces around her. Maybe they are all best friends and will never ever separate but I think that band gets so much love because of her and her alone.

so most people know about my Pondo Army and how I (& other members) respect what other people like even if we do not like said artist ourselves...
Having said that, I truly cannot stand U2. They are so overrated that it sickens me. A LONG time ago, they had one last good album (Joshua Tree), and IMO have been living off of it every since. Garbage over and over again with hopes of getting back to what they were. Henry Rollins & I share this fact in common! Milking the same sorry E chord over and over. Bono...well lets just say I wish he would focus more on charity work and quit singing.
I support those of you who like them. If you dig their stuff great, I just find it to be irritating.

I dreamed about killing you again last night And it felt alright to me Dying on the banks of Embarcadero skies I sat and watched you bleed Buried you alive in a fireworks display Raining down on me You cold, hot blood ran away from me To the sea
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I find myself liking this thread more than I had expected to. Bird
I'm with everyone who's mentioned The National - man they just bore the hell outta me, first time I'd heard of them they were opening for Arcade Fire and it was torturous.
The Smiths...I HATE The Smiths and everything Morrisy has ever done really. That guy and his band are the worst. I just don't get it. Sooo boring to me.
God, I loved you so much. Thanks for ruining that.

Was that a terroristic threat worthy of arrest? I hope not
