aw, no worries! the worst I have to say about them is that they were really, really, really overplayed on my favorite radio station and it just turned me completely off of them.
And that song "Animals" I think it's called, kinda sounds like a NIN rip off. But I'm not a real fan of NIN either.
Ummm they don't have a song called Animals. Cannibal? They have a song called that and they really don't sound like NIN...
Yeah, that's the one. My bad. The beginning kinda sounds like "Copy of a Copy" to me. That's the only song I think sounds anything like NIN.

lol hilarious! You should really check out some of their other work if you haven't already. I personally love all their stuff and recommend the Pikul album. I totally understand if you wouldn't want to. I find it hard to listen to a band that one song got driven into my brain over and over again, and respect that. P.S. All the go inbetweens was the song that made me fall in love with them.
Silversun Pickups. They've been shoved down my ear canals long enough. I really can't stand them.
You just broke my heart a little. They are like one of my top favoritest. I have seen them three times and all three times on the rail (once in the rain).
Top favorite as well. Kissing Families is and will be my favorite song by them.

I saw them live a couple years ago. They just do anything for me. They were a good live band though, so I can see why fans would stay fans.

Die Antwood...not for me. I don't know what the hell is wrong with the vocals but it sounds like someone is sucking on helium prior to singing.
They aren't someone I could casually listen to at work, but I definitely regret missing them last year just to witness the spectacle and energy they put out as seen below.

Gonna go ahead and expand my list to Bon Iver, The National, Phoenix, U2, Eminem, The Lumineers, Interpol, Pavement, The Doors (some fantastic songs), R.E.M. Sufjan Stevens, The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, Pink Floyd (I do like Dark Side and WYWH) The Fall, Stone Roses (I absolutely love "Fool's Gold" though)
Not saying these bands are bad, most of them have some songs I like, but I could just never get into them.

They're an acquired taste. My roommate thinks I've deluded myself into liking them, along with other "aggressively strange" bands like Primus and The Flaming Lips. They make fun music though. Really wish I had seen them last year... forgot what they conflicted with.
If I don't listen to them, I start to slowly dislike artists when someone tells me that their favorite is the "greatest of all time". Had someone try to convince me Foster the People and Childish Gambino were the "greatest of all time" the other day....I mean...really?
I like Childish, Foster is boring... someone trying to tell me either one is the GOAT would make me laugh.

Those of you that don't like Coldplay. They're my favorite band and seem to get ragged on a lot. With the exception of their newest album "Ghost Stories," I'll admit it's pretty bad, why do you dislike them?
My neighbors this year kept mentioning about how they were looking forward to seeing Imagine Dragons play. "Did you even read the lineup people!?!"
I do like Imagine Dragons. Their first radio single is not representative of their music as a whole. Very pop-ish, when their music is more rock-like.
And I understand the confusion. Imagine Dragons came out at the exact same time as the Lumineers and their songs tended to play on the same stations. "Ho Hey" and "It's Time" aren't similar per se, but the lead singers do sound somewhat similar and I think they appeal to the same audiences. Thus people thought they were the same bands.
That and I think their music has just got so overplayed on the radio and on commercials. I don't think it's so much that people think they're a bad band, they're just tired of hearing stuff from their last album. And of course you got the classic music hipsters that purely just don't like them because they gained popularity so quickly.

I'm just excited to see someone mention The Fall on here, even if just to say they dislike them.

Because I'm a Radiohead fan so it goes without saying
No really though, it's mostly from them being overplayed and being fawned over by every soccer mom and basic b*itch in the late 00's. I think over-saturation would be the right term. Personally they just get a big "meh" from me. But if you like them more power to you.

Don't worry they're on the list of "bands I wish I liked more"

I actually enjoy them, but I understand why some people don't, so I'll play devil's advocate here: they have a homogenous sound / subject matter, there's no teeth to any of their songs, and they're just not very danceable. Also, their last couple albums have sucked; Viva La Vida was the last one I can recall with anything particularly memorable or enjoyable.
That said, they do put on a fun concert, and I think Bonnaroo could do a lot worse for a headliner... but they could do a lot better, too.

I can see how you might not like the artist listed, but just curious if you have ever gave Pavement a fair listen? They cover such a massive spectrum of sounds that I find it hard to believe you can't find anything redeeming from one of their albums.

I enjoy a decent amount of their stuff, but I've never liked them to the extent that their legacy should warrant. I certainly like them more now than I did 4 years ago, so maybe in another 4 years I'll learn to love them. I wouldn't say any of the artists I listed were bad.

maybe because I don't have the nostalgia factor or because I never went through the 90s grunge music phase (save for a few bigger names), but every time I listen to the new album I just... not for me.

I still <3 you, carrie brownstein.
I didn't like them in the 90s, and I still don't like them. I don't get Neutral Milk Hotel either.

omg. me either. I saw them twice last year and, aside from the awesome brass players, I was just really "meh" about it.

I saw a customer at work today wearing a Smiths shirt. Then I saw the 5 lbs of ribeye she was buying. "But I thought meat was murder?!" I exclaimed. She had no idea what the hell I was talking about...
