I mean holy jesus, what a bizarre and entertaining and kick-ass set.
The office chair, the 20 or so joints, the bag of weed, the shoe signing, the inflatable alligator, the field trips around the tent, performing from the handicap seating (and grinding up on the woman there... and the volunteer there - video below) and then finishing his last song essentially from the trailer backstage... it was something else.
It was easily the most entertaining and enjoyable hip hop show of the weekend, and one of the craziest shows I've seen in ages.
3/14: The King Khan & BBQ Show .. 4/4: Foxygen .. 4/6: The Mowgli's w/Hippo Campus and Fences.. 4/24: Sleater-Kinney w/THEESatisfaction .. 5/27: St. Vincent w/Sarah Neufeld .. 5/14: San Fermin w/ Natalie Prass .. 5/30: The Decemberists w/ Dan Mangan

Yeah this set was bizarre in the most awesome of ways! Also, as a 30 something white guy with limited appreciation of and much self acknowledged ignorance with regards to hip hop, I much prefer Action Bronson's style (particularly the stuff he has done with The Alchemist) than to many other hip hop MC's. Great show!

This show caught me so off guard. I had listened to Action Bronson a bit while doing my Roo lineup research and I wasn't all that impressed. His set was one of the more entertaining of the weekend. Also, for such a big guy, he's pretty damn mobile. He was definitely a chill dude who I will give another listen to. I even puffed off his joint he threw in the crowd.
Here's a short vid of his set. The crowd was like putty in his hands after awhile.
