Hey guys, once again this year @bonnaroowx is going to be doing daily Bonnaroo-specific weather forecasts this year, as well as REAL TIME rain and storm coverage (imagine someone warning you it's going to rain on the farm and then telling you how long it will last). This is a free, non-Bonnaroo-affiliated service provided by some local weather nerds who operate @nashseverewx and @ruthseverewx. Out of the goodness of their hearts. It's insane. They work with the local national weather service and "live-cast" severe weather here in Middle Tennessee (what they do is INCREDIBLE, and if you live in a place that has tornado warnings from time to time, you can imagine how fantastic it is to get specific, to-the-point information in 140 characters or less when you're in your "safe place").
Two years ago I was DJing on Radio Bonnaroo and asked David, who operates NashSevereWX, if he could just give me general forecasts so I could share them on the air. He ended up tweeting directly to me right before Buffalo Springfield got rained on, warning me when it would start, how long it would last, and that it wouldn't require hunkering down in my car or anything.
I recommend setting up sms alerts for all of their tweets, in case you aren't getting data service - that way you'll get updates texted directly to your phone.

We're got you guys dialed in on @bonnaroowx = many thanks for your efforts! Fingers crossed for fair skies, moderate temps, tolerable humidity and cool nights...well, two out of four wouldn't be bad either!
Question: severe weather comes (tornado, derecho, lightening storm, etc.) -- where do people take cover at Bonnaroo? Or do they? I could see a car being beneficial in some circumstances, but not all.

I would normally never recommend a car in a Tornado/Severe Thunderstorm, but Bonnaroo is a different situation. Just for clarity, I reached out to the @nashsevere/@bonnaroowx people to get their opinion.

Yeah -- I wouldn't want to be in a car in a tornado. But for lightening, it's probably a good option. The forecast looks pretty good, so far, but with so much heat a storm can come up pretty quickly.
