$16 million fully guaranteed in 3 years is a bit dicey. His unguaranteed year coincides with when he'll be 29, so I wouldn't be surprised if he turns that offseason into a "potential holdout" story while leveraging a new deal.
But you'll get two happy years, at least, and he's fun to watch. And he is going to try to rip Chip Kelly's heart out of his chest Indiana Jones style for those two games, which will be fun to watch.
My understanding is the Skins are only locked in for 2 years and can cut him afterwards for a minimal cap penalty. Solid gamble.
Still probably won't pay off by mere fact of it being the Redskins and Dan Snyder.
This will be DeSean Jackson's worst year to date. I feel bad for their fans because once RGIII goes down again they're gonna be as bad as ever. Philly will rule the NFC East for a while, Chip is onto something. The Cowboys are gonna continue to be on the downward spiral, similar to the Raiders, until their owner kicks the bucket. Nick Foles will take a step back into reality but the Eagles will be good enough to win the division. The wildcard is the Giants because Eli is a damn good QB. I think they'll finish right behind the Eagles with 9 or 10 wins with a potential WC spot. I see the Cowboys and the Skins fighting for a .500 season.

That's correct, which is why I said "you'll get two happy years." That 3rd year will either be consumed by talks of holdouts, extensions or trade/cut rumors. He'll be 29 and looking for his last pre-30 payday.
I can't wait for the draft. I think I've decided my favorite players are Jordan Matthews and Kyle Van Noy. Just feels like those two are both way undervalued right now.
I'm a huge Matthews fan. Not the most athletic, or the flashiest, but he's the steadiest guy in that top tier and if you can't land one of Watkins/Evans/Lee, imo, he's the next best thing.
Van Noy is intriguing, but I think Jets fans will actually riot and destroy Radio City if the team doesn't start picking offense early and often.

I realize this is a ridiculous thought, but what if RGIII doesn't go down?
Also, we'll see on the Eagles. McCoy is excellent, but suddenly their only other real threats are Riley Cooper, Maclin coming back from an ACL, and a 31 year old Darren Sproles. Celek is still average.
Recent history tells us that the Eagles will not repeat as champs of this terrible division. It looks like it's the Cowboys' turn.
I'm bullish on the Iggles' offense, fwiw. Sproles will be more of a slot receiver than an actual RB, they have McCoy/Brown/Polk still (a very deep and versatile backfield) and are a run-focused team.
If their defense holds up, they have the best shot, imo. The Giants threw a bunch of money at their roster, but Jerry Reese is swinging at shadows at this point. The Cowboys are a disaster (good job, Jerry).
The Skins are intriguing, though. If their bookends are healthy, that defense can be solid (or better) and if RGIII gets some clean pockets that offense could be scary.

Considering the fact that they have 4 games a year against Philly and Washington, two potentially dynamic offenses, Dallas would be crazy to not lock in on a safety in the first round this year. I guess I could see a defensive tackle, but didn't they just sign Melton? Feels like safety is an obvious answer for them.
If Jerry hadn't gotten them into their brutal financial situation, they could have been players for J Byrd.

The Cowboys don't even have a director of football ops. Every single team in the NFL besides the Cowboys has one. It's in-fucking-sane that Jerry thinks he can do it all by himself.

Jerry is an absolute buffoon. Well, unless his plan all along was to build the best team for a few years and then slowly torture the fan base by dismantling piece by piece over 20 years. Then he's brilliant. After Jerry let Ware go for nothing flat, I can't be a cowboys fan anymore. That was the last straw. Coming from someone who was born and raised in Arlington TX. I just can't take the stupidity, and Jerry is grooming his son to take over. That's 20 more years of bad decisions.

They could also go CB. Claiborne is a disaster.
You're definitely right, but I'm just not really a believer in the first-round CBs. I think they're both overvalued because the Seahawks just won the championship with great cover guys, etc. I'm talking specifically about Dennard and Gilbert - they're good but not top 20 guys. I think Fuller from VTech is right there with them.
Speaking of the NFC East, I'm really interested to see what the Eagles do in this draft. They're a really interesting team to follow these days. I think they could be a landing spot for any of those three CBs, and with Desean out, I think they could spend a 3rd on a speedy WR like Paul Richardson. When is Richardson expected to be taken? Is he considered a potential 2nd-rounder, or could he still be there in the mid-3rd round?

Sure, he had a terrible year, that doesn't take away his two Super Bowl rings. Do you really think he'll be terrible again this year? The Giants are an odd team that sneaks in outta nowhere every few seasons. Partially because that division usually sucks. I think if any team in that division is going to win a WC spot it's them. The Redskins, even with a healthy RGIII, are not that good and we all know what kind of a mess the Cowboys are. The Giants went 7-3 the last 10 games of the season after that terrible 0-6 start.
As far as Eli goes, he is a good QB. I'd take him over the other QB's in the division. Romo has proven he can't win the games that matter and RGIII is not going to stay healthy long enough to even matter, even if he stays healthy Eli is better. Nick Foles is on the best team but he'll fall back to reality this season. He had a great year, I just don't see it repeating.

Even if he stays healthy I don't see the Skins winning much. Romo folds under pressure and Jerry will continue to run his team into the ground. Overall I think this is one of the weaker divisions in football which is why I think the Giants will turn things around. Like Rob pointed out, Eli started out terrible but the Giants turned it around and finished strong going 7-3 in the final 10. If they continue where they left off I see them winning 9 maybe 10 games. In all honesty I think one of the WC teams will be either SF or SEA and GB or DET.
My predictions for this season. NFC West- SF * North- CHI * East- PHI * South- NO * WC's SEA and GB AFC West- DEN * North- BAL * East- NE * South- INDY WC's CIN and KC
Beavdog making playoff picks on April 4th? Boy you crazy.
I think I'm just ready for the season. The NBA and NHL seasons are dragging on, playoffs can't come soon enough. Chicago baseball is pitiful. Barring injuries I don't see much changing in the next few months with the exception of the draft. I don't see the draft making that much of a difference with most of the better teams. In four months my predictions will probably be the same.
The Inforoo resident know-it-all, only I can be sarcastic, miserable, lonely Flanzo has spoken.
Haha, I am the furthest thing from miserable right now. I just went to a marijuana dispensary, going to a vinyl store in a bit and getting a tattoo this afternoon. Life is good.
Don't be mad at me because your "Eli is good despite the numbers and Foles is not as good as his numbers" comment with zero factual evidence is idiotic.

A lot of good QB's have bad seasons, Eli is no exception. Foles had a great season, no argument there. Do you think he'll be as successful this year? I don't think anybody would think so. Eli has won 2 super bowls against 2 pretty good Patriots teams. One terrible season doesn't change the fact that he's a good QB. I know he's not a top tier QB, few are, but I'd argue he's part of the 2nd tier.
Eli is 33. He's had 25 INTs in 2 of the last 4 seasons. He's on the decline. Was he great in his prime? Yes. He was reliable and clutch. He won 2 Super Bowls. But its time the Giants start looking for a new Franchise QB lest we end up like the Jets, Jaguars, Raiders, etc.
It's still unnecessary for Flanzo to act like he is.
Eli has broke 4k yards three times, also had led the league in picks three times, besides his crazy 2011 season, he is a very, very average QB who happens to be clutch
Edit: only thrown 30 touchdowns once
Edit edit: he is pretty accurate when he's not throwing it to the other team

Big Ben also only topped 30 TDs once. Is he an "average" QB?
I think you're forgetting how many godawful QBs there are in the NFL.

Big Ben has also only played a full season twice. He's also has a high completion percentage, low picks, and all that good stuff.
To clarify: I did not mean that because Eli manning only threw 30 touchdowns once meant he was a bad QB. I was just listing some of his stats that contribute to my argument of him being a very average QB
