Agree to disagree. But it's really the type of thing that can't be measured.
And yeah, that block was the best thing Fitz has done in years. Poor Fitz, I feel awful for him. I wish the Cardinals would trade him to a team that could actually throw the ball. Get him to New England or something, guy is wasting away in AZ.
Stop that.
But I agree with your general point. Watching Fitz & Adrian Peterson waste away on awful teams is borderline depressing. Good guys, hard workers, all-time greats type of talent...and their teams have combined for nine losing seasons between them in 15 combined seasons (not including this year, which will probably be another two losing seasons between them). And most of the winning seasons for both guys' teams were because of the absolute brilliance of their individual play.
Get them onto teams with a shot and with front offices with half a brain, it's awful watch them waste away.

Belichick is too stubborn to pull off something like this. Feels like he wants to prove a point in taking Thompkins/Dobson and sticking with it. Or isn't willing to give up what Arizona would want.
I saw something on ESPN a day or two ago saying a hypothetical trade for Fitz ... to the Packers. But this and the other four hypotheticals in the series just look unrealistic and showing no concept of actual trade value in the NFL.
I really don't see him going anywhere though.

While they certainly didn't disappoint last night, I do still expect a let down from Carolina as the season plays on. I'd say it has less to do with the Panthers and more to do with my typically cynical view towards my favorite sports teams. I will welcome them proving me wrong any day.

Pats had every call go their way today, they were lucky to win that game. Did anyone see that BS call on the fumble? Dolphins player dives for the ball and is accused of paddling the loose ball in the opposite direction. In my opinion, you better be pretty damn sure of a player's intent to make that call. Led to what became the game-sealing TD for Brady and the boys. Nice to get the W (and pick up a game on the rest of the division) but they are still struggling in pass protection. Losing Vollmer really hurts. Have to figure he's out for the year.
Wow this board gets awfully quiet when the Jets lose.
What would you like to re-hash? The Jets got their *sses kicked, lost all three phases, Geno played like sh*t, their WR's were getting out-muscled for position on almost every pass, they lost the battle of the LOS for the first time all year, they got out-coached, their RB's didn't pick up any blitzes properly, Cromartie is clearly playing hurt, Dee Milliner is a trainwreck. I'll go over any of the issues facing the team that just got trounced who 8 days ago beat your vaunted Patriots.
So, we're at the halfway point, interested to see how people's opinions have changed. Anyone care to adjust their preseason predictions now that they have seen the lay of the land for the 2013 NFL season?
Anyone who had more than 1 NFC East team in the playoffs, perhaps?

Besides the Buccs' games @ New England, @ Seattle, vs. San Fran, and 2 games against Atlanta, I wouldn't be surprised to the see the Buccs win the rest of their games (I think the Lions, Saints, and Panthers are nothing special). I think they can easily win 9 or 10 games.
A majority of people in this thread also had the Giants winning the NFC East. Eek.
FTR: only 2 GB
Let's not forget that people had to pick one of those dogsh*t teams to win the division. Not picking the right dumpster fire to win the worst division in football isn't that bad. Picking two teams from that division is criminal. You picking the Falcons/Bucs over the Saints is pretty bad, but the worst pick of the inforoo prediction season was when the Phins were picked to win the AFC East by none other than our resident sports guru sang_xcx!
Im so disappointed in the Texans. I thought at this point in the season we would be battling for home field advantage in the playoffs, not a top 10 pick. Something has to change in the offseason I'm guessing it'll be our QB and Head Coach. Speaking of head coaches, I was listening to ESPN radio and apparently Jon Gruden expressed a desire to return to coaching. Which I think is the first time he's publicly said he wants to coach again.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
So what does your Playoff picture predictions look like?
NFC
Giants Packers ** Saints ** 49ers *
WC: Falcons WC: Bears *
AFC
Pats ** Steelers Colts ** Broncos *
WC: Texans WC: Bengals
** Probably is going to be correct
* Could still be corect
I don't think I did too bad. The first NFC wildcard will either go to the Seahawks or the Niners, not the falcons, But he Bears are in that mix to compete for the second one. (Lions, Bears, Panthers, Cardinals) Bears could definitely still come out of that group because the Lions love to giveaway their season, despite being favored.
Obviously the Bengals will win the North, and that division won't have two teams. I still say the Broncos win the West with the first WC going to KC, and the second wild card seems to favor the Jets, who've already played both of their games against NE, and the only game left on their schedule that they look guaranteed to lose is NO, other than that they could win every other game.
AFC East: Patriots North: Steelers South: Texans West: Broncos WC: Ravens and Colts (I kinda want to say Dolphins, but I don't know if they're there yet)
The NFC is very strong this year, I don't feel as confident on this side as I do the AFC. Any one of these divisions are tossups, though probably not as many teams involved as on CPK's list. The Panthers will be improved, but probably not playoff bound this year. I think the Bucs and the Cowboys are flirting with .500 at best. The Rams (not listed) will be better than several teams on that list.
And the Jets are not doing better than 6-10 this year.
Well, so far I'm doing ok. Not great, but not terrible.

You forgot to cross off the Giants from your original predictions.
The Giants have beaten the At Best Third Worst Team in the NFL and the Matt Barkley-led Eagles. They're just as garbage as they were two weeks ago.
Oh, the Giants are terrible - no denying that. I'm not going to sit here and argue otherwise. But with how pathetic the division is, coupled with the fact the Giants can probably pull a couple wins out their asses here and there (by sucking less than the other guys) - you never know.
I still think Dallas will win the East though. And have thought so for the last month or so.
Why do you say that the Niners are not likely to win their division? They are only one game back.
If SF can beat the Seahawks at home then they have a chance but they still have to play the Saints in NO and the Seahawks get NO at home. I think that will be the deciding factor. SF is still a shoe-in for the playoffs but I don't think they're going to win their division.
