The headline I took my gif from was "ANDY REID CELEBRATES CHIEFS WIN BY DANCING LIKE A HAPPY WALRUS" which made me laugh quite a bit.
...and my InfoRoo team name becomes relevant.
I have to admit -- as a former Andy Reid disciple I'm glad he's finding success elsewhere (except week 3). I think it's beginning to show more that he was dealt a shit hand in Philly over the last couple of seasons . . . with a real West Coast Offense QB he probably would have stayed. The universe will vindicate him with a Super Bowl win, which will coincide with a mass yelling of profanities heard across the East Coast coming from Philadelphia.
I didn't catch the overtime of the Pats/Jets game, but after all the shitty calls against us last week, it's bittersweet to see the Pats lose on a questionable call. I'm pretty happy that the Jets won, though.
Damn, does everyone in the NorthEAst really hate the Jets that much. Or is the rivalry that intense. Patriots have no room to complain about 'questionable penalties'. They had probably had the most bogus call go in their favor in modern day NFL with the tuck rule, which helped kicked off their dynasty.
No, everyone in the Northeast hates the Patriots - outside of Patriots fans of course. I mean, the three Super Bowls in four years got everyone's anger up. That and the amassing of division titles we got going on(10 of the last 12). Tuck Rule. Videogate. Tom Brady running around in Ugg boots and a Justin Bieber haircut yet dates/marries supermodels. Belichick is just the type of guy you want to punch in the face. Barstool. I'm pretty sure the second coming of Rainman has a basement office at Gillette, covering stats nobody has ever heard of before just so Belichick can exploit them.
F*ck, if I wasn't born in Massachusetts and a blue blooded New Englander - I'd probably hate the Patriots too.
Now I could talk sh*t about the Jets, but I rather let Flanzo diss his own team. It's much more interesting that way.

That was easily one of the worst NFL games I've ever watched and I watched the whole thing (I was watching for Cruz catches and he didn't win me my match-up until the 4th quarter). Josh Freeman is a train wreck, dude should not have been starting that soon.
Also, how soon until we join hands across America to get Peterson and Larry Fitz onto worthwhile teams? It's just so sad watching two of the best players in the NFL rot because their current teams are absolute dogsh*t.

Once you decide he is your starter, roll with him. I think last week was too soon, though. They had about 10 plays, max, that they kept cycling through for the entire time he was in there.

Granted Freeman is a giant poopy diaper of an NFL QB, he wasn't helped by the fact that his new team started him at least a week too soon and then didn't use his best weapon, a cyborg RB who eats stacked boxes like no other (that sounds highly sexual). The Vikings basically took that sliver of a chance that Freeman played well and lit it on fire with that horrid gameplan.
But yeah, the Pack have a legit good defense now and Freeman sucks, so....that's good.
I couldn't be giddier about the Seahawks bringing back Michael Robinson. He was a pro-bowl FB the last two years who they released at the end of training camp. Main reason being, he was owed a lot of money (relatively speaking, for a FB), and he had some bizarre reaction to a medication which resulted in him getting really sick and losing a ton of weight, so he would have been out at least the first 4 weeks anyway. Coleman was really developing, but with his injury, it's the perfect time to bring MikeRob back. Apparently he's in phenomenal shape and is back to his playing weight, and he was a favorite in the locker room so the whole team is stoked. I understood why they released him at the time, but I'm really glad they've got him back.
So the Seahawks brought back a 2011 and 2012 Pro Bowl FB, they've got Percy Harvin on the way, and the OL starters at both tackles should be back within the next three weeks or so. And they're 6-1. I'm honestly confused because I'm just waiting for something terrible to happen.
They really are primed to be a running-away 1 seed in the NFC. Right now the only thing that can derail them are injuries to only a handful of guys (Wilson obviously topping that list). And if they run the PNR with Al Jeff then things open up for Zeller who is a great mid-range shooter for a big man.
I think they make some noise, things are finally moving in the right direction down in Charlotte.

NBA thread is that way, pal.
It's like a hybrid NFL/NBA commentary. The Seabobhornetcathawks!

Jesus. I had the two replies opened and am on a conference call. I'm just going to leave this as a reminder not to cross the streams.

They give you probability of each nfl team making the playoffs based on their W-L record of their remaining games.
If the Texans go 9-0 they have a .99% chance of making the playoffs 8-1 .998% chance 7-2 .837% chance 6-3 .245% chance So not so good for my Texans.
If the Jets go 9-0 Or 8-1 they have a 100% chance of making the playoffs 7-2, 99% 6-3, 94% 5-4, 50% Flanz I don't know they Jets schedule, but you think the Jets can go 6-3 ?
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

They are currently in the toughest stretch of their schedule: @ Pats, @ Falcons, Steelers, Pats, @ Cincy, Saints. The Saints are their 9th game, so if they split the next two weeks (difficult, but not impossible), and are sitting at 5-4 they're in good shape. Their last 7 games are: @ Buffalo, @ Baltimore, Miami, Oakland, @ Carolina, Cleveland, @ Miami. Each one of those is a winnable game, so if they split the next two games they'd need to go 5-2 over those final 7 to reach 10 wins, which I think gets one of the wild cards this season.
I think it'll be tough, and having Miami in the final week is setting the fans up for an epic letdown, but I like their chances. No one thought they would beat Tampa. Or Atlanta. Or New England. So people ruling games losses ahead of time doesn't bother me (and, more importantly, doesn't bother the team - it pisses them off). They're already -6.5 against the Bengals, people are once again giving the Jets no shot, so...we'll see.
If nothing else, I'm happy to be watching meaningful games heading into November, and if they can keep it together for another couple of weeks, get Winslow & Holmes back on offense, get their secondary healthy (guys have been playing hurt all season), continue to develop Geno and unleash that DL on the league...they have a shot to make a 2nd half run. Lot of things have to go in their favor, but if some of them don't it doesn't kill the team. I think they're going to end up 9-7 and looking at tiebreaking procedures leading up to Week 17.
