You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Blount can do. Even as a backup to Ridley, he would be one of the better backups in the league. I can see like 500 yards and a couple TDs this season.
Miller failed a test in 2011, so he was actually facing an 8-16 game ban. His lawyers/agent negotiated it to 6.
He spilled a urine sample then submitted a watered-down sample, both big no-no's in the nfl testing procedures. They're basically treated as failed tests.

Ripping a guys helmet off and attempting to knock him out with it and only getting, effectively, a one game suspension is bullsh*t. I really don't get this one. Especially when you have a history of losing your cool on the field. Getting suspended for 2 preseason games is a reward. It's all about player safety, right?

There we go. I had repeatedly heard that this was strike 2 on him and that he had a 4 game suspension. Suddenly, it was 6, and I didn't know why it had jumped.

Blame lazy journalism. Someone leaked the suspension, but they obviously didn't know the length at the time so reporters either guessed the 4 games or the source did. Either way, its just a product of how sports news is presented these days. Its all a race to publish a story first, you can always nake edits at a later date, like after millions of people read the original and already form their opinions.

Word. It happens in all wings of journalism, but sports journalism seems to be the worst offender.
To be fair, Richie Incognito is easily the dirtiest player in the NFL and it's not the first time his antics have driven someone to lose their sh*t.
This is true, but I'm pretty sure Smith and Incognito have had issues before. Didn't he stomp him in game 1 of last year? If so, you know Roger told him to cut the crap, no matter how big of a D Incognito is. I expected Roger to bring the hammer down hard due to having seen these guys a year ago.

Just to clarify, the guy whapping Incognito with the helmet is Antonio Smith. Anyway, Smith and Incognito did get into it last year, the below video shows Incognito tackling Smith's lower leg, then holding his foot under his body while Smith flails in pain. Smith got fined for kicking Incognito, but it's plainly obvious that Incognito is doing something to hurt Smith there:
The guy isn't just "pop someone a second after the whistle" dirty. He's "I'll end your season and not only will I not feel bad about it, I'll be happy" dirty. F*ck Richie Incognito and I wouldn't be upset if some nasty DL broke his jaw after one of these stupid stunts he pulled. I cannot wait to watch Big Mo the Wilkshake beat the piss out of Incognito for 8 quarters this year.

I've been mixing him up with he eagles DT/NT Antonio Dixon . I think Incognito is a total D bag btw, I just expected this situation to be viewed differently through the eyes of Lord Goodell. For how big of a mouth the guy has, he's a pretty average player. I expect Big Mo to devour him.

Incognito is an above-average player, but a lot of that might have had to do with Jake Long being next to him and now the good Pouncey being on his other shoulder. He's a good run blocker who is an average pass blocker and takes a lot of penalties (some to keep guys from crushing his QB, some because he's a d*ckhead).
It'll be interesting to see how he does with a trash pile at LT this year instead of the mainstay Jake Long (who, even in an off year, was an above-average LT).
Big Mo will embarrass him, though. Big things for the Wilkshake this year...big things.
Sheldon "Boss Hogg" Richardson, the 13th overall pick in the draft this year, a 6'2" 310 pound DT, is currently running at goal line FB in Jets practice. Shimmy shimmy ya.

I've always attributed his success as a Dolphin to the fact that he's next to Jake Long. When he was a Ram, he was incredibly average. I'm sure he's started to improve as a pass blocker though, as most linemen do as they get closer to 30. I've admittedly not seen as much non-Eagles football in the past 2 years or so as I'd like to.
^ Sadly, a byproduct of the way the NFL has been handing out fines and penalties for helmet to helmet hits
no, that's a dirty player. in college he went for heads. that will cost him money in the NFL, so he's going for knees.
The fact that he played for South Carolina wouldn't have anything to do with that line of thought, would it?
Swearinger has acknowledged that he has had to harness his aggression, based on the way the game is officiated now. Hell, at least half the DB's in the league are in the same boat. That doesn't make a hit in the legs a dirty play, it actually makes in a conscious one. This is the NFL as we know it now. If you are going to be flagged, fined, and suspended for hits above the shoulders, you are going to start aiming low. Not to mention what to do when you need to make a tackle on a guy who outweighs you by about 50 pounds. If the hit had been 2 inches higher and in the thigh and Keller had been upended and gotten up people wouldn't have thought twice about it, but the fact is, you can't calculate to that degree in the moment.
Linemen rolling up guys legs and things like that are easier to diagnose as dirty plays. DBs making open field tackles on receivers is something completely different, especially the way the rules are written now.

Pretty sure you could have just stopped after your first sentence. sang_xcx's bias knows no bound

that doesn't explain why he's a dirty player it only explains how I know that he is.

No, it explains why you look at a typical hit in the NFL in 2013 and try to force it into a label that doesn't fit. Keller was 2 inches, as approo pointed out, or about 2 nanoseconds away from simply being up-ended and trotting back to his huddle.
In the NFL players are in a constant sea of season-ending injuries, they are literally seconds away from them at any moment. Swearinger is not wrong and is not dirty for going low. It's sad that Keller is now out for the year (for everyone but Jets fans, at least), but I didn't see your hand-wringing at Antonio Smith, who whapped a guy with his own helmet. You only care or call him dirty because he went to SC>

you didn't get my point. I'm calling him a dirty player because I know that he is, I've seen it. I don't think every SC player is dirty. there are plenty of dirty players that don't play for SC. I'm calling him out because he's in the news and his reason for hitting him low was malarky and what I said is definitely true. he's going to hit low now because hitting high will cost him money. not to say that he's the only one doing it.
