I have tomatoes started and ready to go in this Sunday: Brandywine, Bonnys Best, and an Amish paste
Also a chocolate cherry for my lady, it's a mildly spicy cherry tomato.
4 kinds of peppers started as well: Ozark Giant, Tunisian Baklouti (fire without breaking you), Black Hungarian (jalapeno flavor half the heat), and Purple Beauty bells.
Early bed is already in: 3 types of onion and radish. Peas and 2 types of carrots. Lettuce to fill in the gaps and the daises I have in the SW corner of the bed are taking off already.
I am excited to see my asparagus this year, it will be the first I can harvest any. Also should be the first good year for my JohnnaRed apple tree, next year for the Gala.
If there are others who enjoy gardening in any form I am down to post garden porn while swapping stories and seeds to pass the time to Bonnaroo.
I'm garden-lazy this year. I just started some tomato seeds this past weekend; normally I'd be ready to transplant by now. And I bought cheapo seeds from home depot; a small sweet cherry tomato, and a beefsteak. I need to get some more peacevine cherry tomato seeds; those are the absolute best. Maybe next year. I'm also going to try again with Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red tomato, but probably in a pot by itself so I can give it more attention.
I haven't decided what else to plant this year; maybe some turnips, peppers, and herbs. I had intended to plant sugar snap peas like I do every year, but never got around to it.
My daughter & I planted a flower bed this weekend.
I do raised beds, but this year we're going to remove the floors from the beds and dig up the ground beneath them. My tomatoes never grow very big because the roots can't grow deep enough.
I started off a few years ago with a mixture of peat moss, compost, and vermiculite (square foot gardening soil recipe), and I just add a few buckets of compost, soil conditioner, and/or horse manure every year, and throw all my egg shells out there through the year.
Our tulips have already bloomed here, we are going to put in knockout roses at the end of the week on the sides of the house. As far as edible stuff goes, I'm ready to set out my mint, I keep it in planters so that it doesn't take over, and I'm sure my husband will be working on our heirloom tomatoes here soon..We have some Cherokee purple and zebras. It will be so awesome to have a tomato that tastes like a tomato--I don't even bother with store bought during the winter because of the taste..

Ughh the 1 counting 1 bad thing about Roo is that when I come home from the journey, my plants and ahem herbs are usually wilting and clinging onto life. Never trust your friends to care for your plants! Usually my garden gets started when I get home. A lil late yes but still worth it.
linana you will be happy turning over the base of your beds. Perhaps take a cup of soil to a local extension office for testing. Amendments are cheap and since its all going to be apart now's a good time to do it
ellabelle, you are so right about the tomatoes...just had our first decent Amish grown one this year, BLT's were had until it was gone.
Roo'adelphia I use a combo auto valve on the water hose for my beds close to the house and for anything else a 55 gal drum or 5 gallon bucket auto water setup. I keep the assorted melons, beans, and corn growing 3 sister style away from the house. The 55 is a rain water only system, the 5 gals are for dire times of dryness. Google for either one and enjoy coming home to healthy and hydrated plants bud!
Disappointed this isn't about Roller Coaster Tycoon somehow...
I used to wait until people walked a few inches from the gate and raise prices just to glitch all their money away from them. Then I made a prison in my ammusement park for angry people. Also i dropped people to drown alot...Extent of my Roller Coaster Tycoon days.

I just got done gardening the shit outta my garden. Transplanted all my bunched peppers to open space, made a structure for the cucumber vines to climb, clipped the pumpkins and transplanted a few little ones getting smothered by the big mofo we got growing into the lawn. A late start and none of my herbs besides basil and only one eggplant have come up. Romaine lettuce was a no but the leafy blend I got is flourishing under the corn.
All goes well, ill be making plenty of pickles and pepper jelly come harvest.
