Also, Portishead and Massive Attack slipped my mind... I thought of Aphex Twin, but from what I've seen and heard, his live show doesn't seem as promising as I would have hoped, but I'd still not turn down the opportunity to see him.
Possibilities of David Bowie and The Tear Garden this year or next... yeah, that's pretty exciting for me.
This is really hard. On the one hand there are tons of legends I'd love to see but don't necessarily care if I never see them perform live since they aren't in their prime and aren't necessarily mine to see, if that makes sense. I know Sigur Ros is probably my #1.
They'd be in my top 3, but seeing them in 3 weeks, so I left 'em off.

Bishop, just to make ya jealous... I saw Meat Beat with KMFDM open for NIN on the the Pretty Hate Machine tour. Also saw Nitzer Ebb open for Depeche Mode on Music for the Masses.

While I have several faves I missed back in the day... Talking Heads, Smiths, Kinks, The Fall, Stone Roses, Replacements, I'm always leery of seeing geezer reunions. In some cases, no memory is better than a tarnished one.
Also, not a band, but I need to see the Vienna Philharmonic. Probably would be number 3 for me, though it's not going anywhere so it's just a matter of getting tickets 6-12 years in advance.
I almost included them, but I didn't feel right bumping any of the others in my top 10. They'll hit the list as soon as I knock someone out (probably Bjork).

I know exactly what you mean. I was a huge fan of the Church way, way back when and saw them a year or two ago doing three albums cover to cover. I was SO disappointed at how horrible it was.
On the other hand, I also saw Squeeze last year and was really impressed with how tight they still sound.

I love this idea. I keep a Top 50 at all times just for fun. I've already emptied my bucket list a few times, but these are next in line.
1. The Fugees 2. Paul McCartney 3. Pink Floyd/Roger Waters 4. Outkast 5. Cardigans 6. Lauryn Hill 7. Prince 8. Simon and Garfunkel 9. Sufjan Stevens 10. James Taylor
This is assuming Zed Zeppelin and The Smiths never reunite. If either do they would go into the top 10.

Prince Sigur Ros (really bummed I haven't seen them yet) Portishead Bruce Springsteen Coldplay (hate all you want) Clapton Moby Russian Circles (pretty bummed about this as well considering they play around here quite often something just always gets in the way)
1 the Rolling Stones 2 Paul McCartney (soon remedied) 3 billy Joel 4 Tom waits 5 beach boys 6 Stevie wonder 7 Eric Clapton 8 pink Floyd waters/Gilmore either or both preferable 9 Paul Simon I am sure there are more but I can't think of them right now and I have seen damn near everyone I want to have seen. I saw Boston one year and they just went through the motions. The singer couldn't hit the notes. It was rough.
1. Paul McCartney 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Daft Punk 4. A Tribe Called Quest 5. Pink Floyd (I'll settle for The Wall) 6. LCD Soundsystem 7. Prince 8. Bowie 9. White Stripes 10.The Beach Boys (because we left early last year and I'll never forgive myself)
Aside from the fact that LCD disbanded at their pinnacle is there a reason to feel certain they won't play together again? I haven't been listening to them for long, but I know enough to know I want to be there whenever/wherever.

1. Prince (had many opportunities to see him when I lived in MN and for some dumb reason, like being a teenager, I never went with my folks) 2. RATM 3. Steely Dan 4. Barbra Streisand (I could never afford a ticket and yeah, I get that most people are laughing at me for that one, but I grew up in a very eclectic musical household and I love show tunes) 5. MMJ will always be on my list
and of course the two that will never happen: Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd
1.) Led Zeppelin 2.) Prince 3.) Paul McCartney 4.) David Bowie 5.) Talking Heads 6.) Rolling Stones 7.) Steve Gadd 8.) Ornette Coleman 9.) Sonny Rollins 10.)Al Di Meola

I can believe most of the lists and bands, but never to see the man Neil yet!!!! He still kicks butt badder than most of the young guns but he is getting up there. I suppose Neil is the person I have seen most. Maybe 25 times. The Dead doesn't count because if you were in the Bay during 65-75, well ya know what I mean. They might be at the local coffee club noodling. BTW, the first show Zep ever played in the US was in Denver. Little did I know at the time, what I was lucky enough to experience. cr****
I'm going to go ahead and leave McCartney off since I'll see him this summer. Led Zeppelin David Bowie Pink Floyd (I've seen them, but it was the Roger Waters-less version. I want Gilmour/Waters.) Santana Cream Black Sabbath Blind Guardian Dimmu Borgir Savatage (preferably a return to the Dead Winter Dead era lineup. Seen everyone but Zack and Jon with TSO, but want 'Tage) Celtic Frost Jason and the Scorchers (they play one-off reunions in Nashville occasionally but I am always either booked or broke when they do) Richard Thompson (hoping to knock this one off in April) Buddy Guy
