I can't quite understand the boners for Cut Copy. They don't stick out in my mind as anything exceptional. Is this some kind of inside joke?
EDIT: I should say "collective boners" for Cut Copy. I can easily understand individuals loving a specific band. I don't understand the perceived universal appeal amongst Inforoo for Cut Copy. I know there is a fairly universal love on the boards for My Morning Jacket, Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, and Neil Young, and I get that. I guess I just need to experience more Cut Copy?
I'm also under the impression Cut Copy will easily win November, partly with the collective boner and partly with lack of anything else really competing this month. (See: F*ck Buttons in July)
Here's a little start of a November cheat sheet for those who want to go beyond just listening to Cut Copy and declaring victory:
Tennis - Small Sound Melvins - Tres Cabrones Howe Gelb - The Coincidentalist Eminem - MMLP2 Bryce Dressner with Kronos Quartet - Aheym Mount Eerie - Pre-Human Ideas Vaadat Charigim - The World Is Well Lost Sebastien Tellier - Confection Keller Williams - Funk Cate Le Bon - Mug Museum
and lastly, Snow Bells - a f*cking Erasure Christmas album comes our this month. This currently has my vote just from playing the potential in my head.
That Eminem album is a hot load of dog sh*t.
Struggling to get through it. 7 songs in, of 21! Jusus! I didn't mind most of B"ad Guy"(the first song, ugh), but every single song seems to have at least 1 big "this is fuvcking awful moment.
He still has his good moments here and there, but fewer and far between.
I f*cked up. The new Tal National would have been tied with Pusha for October. I need to step up my game.
Can we go on and call the new Cut Copy the winner? It's not that I think it will be, I just don't wanna see that cover for a month.
Ha, I like that cover. I think it's a fun tongue and cheek nod to rave culture.
Ehh, fluoro was a very big (and very unfortunate) trend here circa ~2005-2007 or so. It feels a lot more outdated than retro / tongue-in-cheek at this point.
I can't quite tell if the album isn't as good as previous efforts or if I'm just burnt out on them, but I'm just not digging it as much as I hoped. I will give it another spin before making my final verdict, but I doubt it'll be album of the month for me.

In Ghost Colours is one of my favorite albums ever. Every song is a little dance party unto itself. But what really pushes them over the top, and why I think people on here love them, is their live show. They absolutely kill it. If you go to a Cut Copy show and don't start dancing then you're most likely dead.

Your boy, Hands of Zeus, gave it a pretty fair review.
If we were voting on "Best 5 Songs Off an Album for the Month," then I would vote for Grizzly Bear's Shields: B-Sides. The remixes are garbage, but the 5 b-side tracks are fantastic.

I thought they all sound like they were B-sides for a reason. not bad, but nothing great.
I'm also a huge fan, so anything new is great to me. You can tell that they weren't all fully finished, but I really enjoy them.
Also, after another listen, the first remix is okay, the second one is horrible, and the final remix track is pretty decent.
SIDE NOTE: garageland.... I have no idea what just happened in my ears after making it through about four songs off that Connan Mockasin album. That was absolutely horrible. I need a shower now.
