Yes, rosko should have known that was a vote. You made a clear and definitive choice by saying "I don't know."
So when others voted verbally and pointed out their votes were not counted, the rule was that only album covers and likes associated with them were considered, but when I included slightly ambivalent verbiage, that discounted both the fact that I posted the album in the album of the month thread as well as the vote of another poster who apparently figured out my intent to nominate the album just fine.
Somewhere, a dude named Chad is both pregnant and hanging and Al Gore is shaking his head judgingly.
I understand where the confusion came from, but I got what he was saying as in "I don't know if this is the moat technical sound album of the month, but my favorite."

Lighten up, I'm just saying it's not at all difficult to see how your post was misinterpreted. Also, a like from pmo has never had any official function in voting. He just likes things because he's a nice guy who likes things.

Should their just be a thread for the month where only one person posts. They post the guidelines in post one and from there each post is an album cover, the band and name of the album and any link to a preview or early listen to the album and/or a link to the spotify playlist of the album?
From there if you like the album as the album of the month 'like' that post.
We can have a totally separate thread each month for discussion, any albums not posted in the aforementioned thread that should be, and what not.

I counted all the votes that were expressed verbally. I was simply saying that for the future, it'd be easier if we posted a picture of the album when we were voting. The ONLY one I missed was one of the Nick Cave votes, and I was just pointing out that I missed that because it was in text and not a picture of the album; thus, it'd be easier for me to not miss votes if it were a picture of the album.
I absolutely would've counted yours as a vote if it didn't have the "I don't know" statement. I took that to mean you were strongly considering voting for that album, but that you weren't officially voting yet. And "likes" on posts never have and never will count as votes; that'd make things way too complicated.
You are making it like I'm some coldhearted, rules-obsessed vote-counter when that's not the case at all. If I see it and I know for sure it's a vote, I count it. I'm just trying to come up with a system that makes it easier for seeing and counting all the votes.

We should have the first thread pinned.
Just a thought, i think that's the best bet.
No, I think you're overthinking it. This can be the only Album of the Month thread for all the months. All I'm asking is that to make it easier on me to see and count all the votes, post a picture of the album cover with its title underneath. That way I won't miss one. It's super simple, I don't know why you guys are making it so complicated, haha.
Hell, even if you quote someone who has already posted the album without adding any "I don't know" or "I think" qualifying text, that would count obviously. It's really simple.

OH MY GOD. This is all just so fuckking ignorant. I'm sorry, PMO, that your attempt to simply have an album of the month vote has turned into this. I'm done here. I will discuss my thoughts about albums each month with people offline. If this thread continues I will post my image of my favorite album each month for one vote here.
Also, if you vote for your album of the month pick the very first week of the month, all of the ladies here are going to assume that you're a premature ejaculator. Give 'em all time to digest, ya cheesedicks.
I don't know if it's the best of the month, but this is a pretty damn good album.
That doesn't sound like a vote to me. And I don't think there was a second vote for it; if there was, link me to it please.
Hey rosko - good job counting votes that actually followed the godddamnn motherfukcking rules. Sorry everyone turned this into a super unenjoyable process.

I love you Longinus - you know I do. But shut the fukk up, my brother. God bless.

TL : DR - .
If you're referring to me as the cheesedick, That Youth Lagoon album is phenomenal, I viewed the list of up coming releases, and made a judgment call that I stand behind 100%, If you are concerned about my longevity in the sack, not to worry. Maybe focus on your erectile dysfunction.
Also, I do what I want!
Edit: if you were not referring to me, ignore all of the above.

Boneroo - god bless you, but I'm pretty sure he's talking about me giving people shite for voting before all the albums for the month are out. Because you really should have your mind made up after hearing 3 of the 42 releases for the month.
An "Album of the Month" thread is a fantastic idea that everybody seems to really want. Judging by all of the high emotions, this something we are obviously really passionate about and is the start of something great within Inforoo's culture. What this thread lacks at the moment is organization. Why do we not use the first couple months of the thread as trial version, or beta, or, or learning curve? Why don't we start fresh for March and start a new thread for all of the many months to come? Make an OP that clearly states the rules. That has the updated tally of votes. That states that an image of the album cover is the only way for a #1 vote to count. We can make this work, guys. I feel like everybody has been unsure of what has been counted because of the lack of a central information center. Starting a new thread that can last til the end of time based on what was learned from the first 60 days is not a lot to ask. By staying organized we can have fun with this.
You started a different thread (one just for March) because F*CK AUTHORITY THEY'RE TRYING TO KEEP US QUIET.
I'm starting the exact same thread, but just starting it over with the rules and such in the OP because that seems to be what people want. You were trying to be vaguely rebellious/a pain in the ass, I'm trying to be productive.
If people want to lock the one I started (which, again, has the voting rules in the first post) and keep this one, I'm 100% fine with that. We need to decide on which one gets locked, though.
Lets talk about the new albums in this one and post our choice for the month in the other one. renaming threads with which is which in parentheses would be helpful. (talk) (vote)
I don't think we should split them. We don't need two AOTM threads. I think we should keep either this one or the other one. It's totally up to you guys, doesn't matter to me. I think it'd make more sense to keep the other one since it has the rules for voting in the first post. Really couldn't matter less to me, though. Why is it becoming so hard to reach a consensus on this very simple topic?

I'm making an executive decision to lock this one up. PMO it's a GREAT idea, and is a very fun concept, thank you for that!
Kyle has made a new thread to accommodate what this process has evolved into. He will keep the OP updated with the voting tally for each month. Feel free to discuss the albums that are released in that month there, as well.
