Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
I do wish I could've gone back in the Rothbury days it seems they still had a good amount of EDM back then with a good selection of a lot of other things. Now it seems to have a BIG dose of EDM, and a little bit of some other stuff thrown in. Depending who you are though that can be good, too! For those of you that are interested though Electric Forest is accepting submissions for new art installations and will pick one for a grant of 3,000 dollars. Might help some of you that are talented with that sort of stuff? plugin.electricforestfestival.com <<<<< enter here and good luck! Hope as many of you make it out as possible, but if not have fun at Bonnaroo for me!!

I've gone to this festival the last two years. The first year I had the absolute time of my life. I had never been to a non-Bonnaroo camping festival before and was a little trepedacious to drive all the way up to Michigan for it but I was so glad I bucked up and went. The grounds and the stages are awesome. It feels tiny compared to Bonnaroo but that was not a bad thing. There is not a bad seat in the house really (gentle slopes and open sightlines) and the production value that goes into creating the atmosphere must be experienced (Shambhala is the only thing I've seen that I might compare to, but with stages).
That being said, last year I went up with my GF and the vibe of the whole fest had, changed. I feel like the word got out as to what a great party the first year was and last year all of the womp-rats and associated ilk made their way to the Double-JJ ranch. The campsites were much smaller so we were really packed in and I just didn't get the community feel from the attendees that I got the year before, or every year I've gone to Bonnaroo. There were also some incidents regarding safety and you can read about those on the infobury board so I won't go into them except; the last night, after SCI finished, we got caught in the crowd surge so we extricated ourselves from the close proximity we were to the stage and went to the very back by the vendors. We noticed the atmosphere changing and the cops becoming increasingly frenetic (all cool cops btw!) in reaction to the wild crowd. We decided to just get out of there and went to hang out in front of the Sherwood Court stage and we were treated to a private sound check from Big G, who proceeded to save the night.
It was also a bit hotter last year and we had as long of a walk to our campsite as I've EVER had at Bonnaroo (and I was FAR out in '06 and '10). So that dragged on us a bit. From what I understand, almost ALL of our misfortunes could have been avoided by going VIP (which is a real deal at this festival). I would love to return this year but the lineup has not thrilled me yet (though there is a ton of unique stuff to EFF on there that no other festival is getting), and if I do it will only be VIP.
Thanks for the info Chattanoogacheek. I feel like this will be a great experience for me because I've never been. Nothing will be quite like those early Bonnaroos but I need a good change up this year. This is perfect for lil' ol' me

The addition of Grizmatik ALMOST has me convinced i need to return this year. I missed the craziness that was Lance Herbstrong the first year so that's pretty tempting as well. The Quixotic girls will bring that added level of art/beauty but I would hope they do their performances on the small stages throughout the forest like last year. It's gonna be a great time with a pretty unique lineup for 2013.
Edit: Caught Orchard Lounge at Snowball - would definitely skip that this time - it was the very definition of 'meh'. And I will catch Thriftworks with Michal Menert and Bassnectar in about a month - looking forward to that. Dopapod has gotten so good in the last year I am hoping to see them added to Bonnaroo as well.
