I dislike Creed because people think their music was religious, but they weren't, and it makes me mad that they didn't do a good enough job of denying this.
Um. What? Are you saying you'd enjoy Creed if it wasn't for this?
Also, hate to break it to you, but Creed was absolutely a Christrian rock band that wouldn't own up to it because they didn't want the stigma of being a Christian rock band. If anything, they denied it plenty - and it was a brilliant move because it allowed people to tell themselves they werent ROCKING OUT to Jesus music, but the lyrics and posturing were enough to let religious types know that these guys were totally into Christ. They've got a religious name, and when they broke up, the next band they had was called ALTAR BRIDGE. The lead singer struck a Jesus pose in every single video they filmed.
Either they were religious as f*ck or pretending to be in order to sweep up some of those fat Christ bucks.
Sorry, I just noticed this. That is my arbitrary reason for hating them. Someone at my last job was convinced I was a Bible-thumper and it really pissed me off. I immediately made them realize that was not the case. I think it was because at the time I took my job seriously and didn't dick off at work like everyone else. But Creed just kept letting people go on thinking they were a Christian band with little resistance. I feel like they should have made it abundantly clear.
I also think it IS abundantly clear that they were NOT a Christian band. They had about two songs that could be misinterpreted to be religious in nature, and maybe they did have some religious elements in them, but this does not constitute a Christian band. Their existence was not based around spreading the "good word." If that is the basis for calling a band or an artist a religious or Christian group, then Tupac was a Christian rapper.

It may have been said but I hate Mumford because they are similar to Avett Brothers and are more successful. Even more so because they called out Phillip Phillips for being an insincere, meaningless pop-folk artist and essentially described themselves. This is less arbitrary because their music is average at best
