That was exhilarating, demoralizing, uplifting, frustrating, all at the same time. As a Hawks fan, I can honestly say they got the crap kicked out of them tonight. Don't know how they found a way to win that, but thank the lord. Bruins fans, either way this goes this is the best team the Hawks have played against this year. Incredible series that needs to go seven games.

Great. Because the zillions of ill-behaved Chicago fans who invade for every away game they play here need to be MORE encouraged...
Blackhawks had the lowest attendance in the league only about six or seven years ago so a lot of their newer supporters are, shall we say, more interested in beer than much else.... a la: "I love Jonathan Toes!"
I'm not taking this loss nearly as bad as I have past championship/conference finals/playoffs nearly as bad as I have others mostly because of how great of a series it was. As for the finish, that's the only reason the Bs made it out of the first round so it's hard to get too upset over that. The most frustrating thing about the series was how the Hawks seemed to score so many crappy, bouncing around the net goals where the Bs were completely inept in that department. I got the feeling early on tonight, so many failed chances to capitalize usually ends in heartbreak.
Some of the Bruins went to Foxwoods MGM Grand after the 2011 Cup win. This is what happened at the end of the night...
That 100k line is a bottle of a super rare champagne to be used in a charity auction. The rest is just straight up alcohol abuse that puts nearly all of us to shame.

Bowman's got that tab tonight. Chump change for those guys. And I think it's hilarious they bought the charity auction pagne.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think you need to understand why they had the lowest attendance. "Dollar" Bill Wirtz was continuously viewed as one of the most greedy and egotistical owners in, not just hockey, but all of sports. The Hawks didn't use to exist for the loyalty of their fans. They continuously cut corners on contracts, fan appreciation, and even on local TV where Bill thought it would be too cheap to let his fans see home games. Enter his son Rocky, and a new dawn of fan appreciation. Hawks home games are finally on local TV (and doesn't cost you $29.95 a month), ownership begins to build a franchise (not just a bankroll), and the fans followed. It's very easy to write it off as a bunch of bandwagon ridiculousness, but really it's as simple as one of sports' worst franchises pulling a complete 180, and becoming one of the most beloved.

Beloved by nobody outside the 312 area code, I'll tell you that much.
Seriously, I'd have been happy for the fans of just about any other sports franchise - even the Red Wings, who are sworn mortal enemies of the Predators. But Chicago fans come here in droves for every away game, and start drinking at 9:00 in the morning. They usually are so drunk they can hardly get in the front door of the Bridgestone by game time, use foul language in front of and swear at little kids, scream through the National Anthem, bring signs filled with words not suitable for TV, pick fights with the local fans, vandalize downtown bars, and generally treat our town like their personal toilet bowl. It's so bad that I consider staying home for any Blackhawks away game, despite being a Preds season ticketholder, and would seriously do it if I could bring myself to give these jerks the satisfaction. The one bright spot is all the money they spend when they come here, a big chunk of which goes right back into development of the Bridgestone and indirectly into the coffers of the Predators.
No other fanbase behaves this way when they visit, even St Louis. If you guys really care about your franchise, you may want to entreat your management to provide some lessons to the fans on how to behave in civilized society, IMO.
