Yeah, it totally pays to make the reservation because you don't lose anything if you need to cancel. Plus if you do need to cancel, you can switch your reso to a newcomer
I did that last year. They must have been wondering why I was switching my reservation to someone in Virginia though - nowhere close to me.

I'll follow suit with making a reservation at DTI. The odds of me going are still pretty low, but just in case... I better do it now. If I need to cancel like last year, I'll do that.

did you guys see the facebook post (yesterday maybe??) where AC said that moogfest is still doing moogfest 2013??
wonder how that will turn out in terms of who gets the best bands.....
I'll be curious to see. Prior to ACE promoting the event, it was kinda a joke. I'm hoping they step it up and book some solid names and not go back to how they were doing it.
April 12-14th - Indio, CA - Coachella Weekend 1
May 3-5th - Memphis, TN - Beale St. Music Festival
June 13-16th - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo
July 12-14th - Louisville, KY - Forecastle Festival
August 2-4th - Chicago, IL - Lollapalooza
September 27-29th - Atlanta, GA - TomorrowWorld
October 25-27th - Asheville, NC - Mountain Oasis

I would imagine, without the help of AC, MoogFest is going to scale back big time. I imagine it'll become more a celebration of Moog, with lots of panels and such, and less a music festival. Maybe a couple shows at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium and The Orange Peel, but nothing huge.
That said, I would have loved to have seen Mountain Oasis become a camping festival over Labor Day weekend. Still should be a great, time though. I imagine it'll just be MoogFest with a different name. And, considering its lineups under the MoogFest name the past three years, that's a good thing.

From Facebook: Our team is in overdrive with our festival announcements (Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival this week, THE FORECASTLE FESTIVAL in Louisville coming March 4) but we're really pumped at how the Mountain Oasis line up for October is starting to take shape. Awesome information to share with you...sooner than you might imagine!

It may just be that I want to feel this way, but I think with all of the issues last year and then the falling out with Moog, that this year's leadup to the event (with the prompt updates and early lineup releases) will be much more on par with the first two years.

No, that makes a lot of sense. There were clearly issues last year with the roll out of Moog. I bet this is going to be a really great thing for the festival.
SOOOOOOOO I just got back in here and read from page 1 - and Im still in. I would like to plan on rooming with some of you lovely people who already reserved rooms
I also had a randar thought on the headgear. Do y'all remember the gnomes? and their adorable hats with lights? I was thinking that if we all had that it'd be a little distracting, but then I thought, well we def need to incorporate lights on this round of headgear. ...even if it's just a single BEACON fingerlight arranged somewhere in there.
Also, I'd like to see Holy Ghost! and the Knife and Portishead and all those amazing acts. I fully intend on railing it for Holy Ghost! at Roo, they put on suuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a fun show. i lessthanthree them a ton.

your spot is reserved in room safe panda if you want it.
I also looooove the light idea and my room is also a top floor mountain view reservation Maybe I'll eventually give mine away and we can have a "Girls rule, boys drool" room
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I've always counted myself lucky that the year this started, as I left Boone for Knoxville, also happened to be the year that one of my best Boonie-friends moved to Asheville. Crashing on his couch is always a blast. I can't wait for 2013!
Also, can we officially change the title of this thread to "The Festival Formerly Known as Moogfest" ?? I had the idea the other day and have grown really fond of using it.

If they're trying to hint at who is going to be playing on Facebook, then I can't wait to see Atoms For Peace and How To Destroy Angels in Asheville come October.

I am not getting my hopes up at all, but you never know with it being all AC this year. El Cappo's twitter is not helping.
"Coming soon: @mtn_Oasis October in #Asheville is shaping up to be a mindblower! Can't wait to share but it'll be a few more weeks..."
