Oh my. Oh my. Anyone at this show? Key paragraph from the article:
"Johnny Marr played guitar on two songs, specifically a cover of The Smiths’ “The Boy With The Thorn In His Side” and “The Wagon”, which also featured Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew; Pixies’ Frank Black sat in for a cover of “Tame”; former Sonic Youth members Kim Gordon and Lee Renaldo joined the band for performances of “Don’t” and “Little Fury Things”, respectively; Kurt Vile guested for “Alone”; and Tommy Stinson and Portlandia‘s Fred Armisen appeared for a cover of The Stooges’ “T.V. Eye”."
I'll be honest, Zapp. That performance I saw at ATP was less than stellar. I keep trying to chalk it up to a "middle-of-the-day-outside" slot but when I think back on it, he didn't look like he was enjoying it.
Just means we have better solo work to look forward to.

Emeralds were amazing when I saw them shortly after What Happened came out, but their releases have really gone downhill since then. Maybe this will shake them up in a positive way. I've got to admit, Just to Feel Anything destroyed whatever lingering interest I still had in them.
Dante (Guitarist) from Hacienda is no longer with the band. Here's the recent FB update..
We wanted y'all to know that Dante will no longer be with Hacienda. This was a difficult decision, but the four of us feel it is best for the band and all of us individually. We are proud of all the work we have accomplished together and will move forward with the same spirit that has made Hacienda so much fun to be apart of. We wish Dante the best in whatever he goes on to do. We can't thank everyone enough for their support and understanding. The three of us look forward to seeing y'all on the road very soon.
Posted this in Troo Music Lounge too, but since some people avoid the madness over there, I figured I'd post the link over here as well. Great read about a great man.
New David Bowie album "The Next Day" streaming on iTunes and it's excellent. I actually feel this might benefit from a thread of its own so people can hear it before it's gone but not sure what board to put it on so I'll post it in here instead.
