Man, that fake lineup was terrible. Bands all out of order, Wiz Khalifa misspelled, and the entire thing looks like a best of 2011-2012 with a few new artists sprinkled in. Of Monsters and Men being towards the bottom was pretty funny too (in a bad way).
Delta Spirit doesn't have anything scheduled either. Having the Deer Tick + Dawes + Delta Spirt = Middle Brother. 4 band additions in 3. The Deer Tick Deervana set a couple years back was one of my roo highlights. Fingers crossed.
Here's one the old fashioned way. I went to a 250 person benefit show in Providence last night. John McCauley headlined the night. I spoke with him early on in the evening and asked about Bonnaroo and he said that he was playing! However, I didn't get chance to ask which band he'd be playing with- sorry.
Also The guys from The Low Anthem were there. They aren't playing.
That contract says they can't play in a 100 mile radius 180 (!!!) days before the festival. That seems a little much doesn't it? That means would mean that they can't perform anywhere in that 100 mile radius for the next 7 months. I never heard a radius clause that long.
So I assume a radius clause is real? What is it exactly? Does it really say a band can't perform within a certain radius if they're booked for a gig? I don't really understand. Somebody please explain.

the radius clause is a real thing. It basically states, in this case, any band playing Bonnaroo must agree to not play any venues within x miles before and after the event. It keeps ticket sales up since the attendees will pay to see the band at the festival, not at a smaller venue.

Yep, you nailed it.
It's pretty standard for festivals or other big gigs (maybe even small bookings but I doubt it) for the contract to include a radius clause.
It basically says, "By signing this piece of paper and performing at this event you promise to not play within X amount of miles for Y number of weeks before or after the event."
A promoter would include it so they can be the exclusive provider of an act for a certain region. It's really not that big of deal for artists who would be asked to sign one. I'm pretty sure when Jay-Z signed it in 2008 he dipped out to Europe for the rest of the summer.

No Do Make Say Think. I messaged them on Facebook and they responded, "I'm afraid not. Sorry. I hope you got good marks on your grad papers. We'd feel responsible if you didn't." This was after I asked and told them I listened to to same album while writing every one of my grad papers. Haha.

To be fair, I later tweeted Dt about Roo and they said they hadn't been asked. John runs their Twitter account. So who knows. He's playing SXSW solo. I'm guessing Dawes will be touring w their new album so I can't see Middle Brother happening.
Sigur Ros is having a reddit live chat now. You guys should vote up my question about playing Roo this year and maybe we could get some info on them playing or not
Has anyone brought up the possibility of Django Django? I've been a relatively close lurker of this thread but I could have missed it. They end their tour in the US In March-then have a show in May in London. Not saying that schedule makes them more likely to be at 'Roo, just saying what it is.

Sure I'd take it. I think they'd at least be a very low undercard. My own personal feelings for them could be making me think they are more significant then they are
