If I love the lineup, I may pull the trigger on VIP for this.
Same here. Never done VIP before but Waka's VIP seems like you get more for your money than any other festival I've seen. Heard good things about it too. All just depends on the lineup I guess...

Sounds like they're going into more of a jamband lineup than full on electronic which makes me a happy girl. Don't get me wrong - I love electronic for late night but not as the big headliners. Can't wait to see who else they bring out!
I'm super excited to see Bombino on the lineup. I got to catch part of a set over the summer and found myself wishing I had seen all of it. Hopefully Waka means another full US tour.

If this is any indication of billing order: wakarusa.com/artist-lineup/ There is still some pretty big names to be added (or semi-big names playing more than one day). I'm assuming that is why yonder and zeds dead is billed above OM+M.

It usually is because the routing makes sense with the two fests being on back-to-back weekends in the past, but they aren't this year so a couple of acts may not make it. It still makes sense, but it's a little less of a safe bet.

Damn VIP is expensive. It's over $700 if you use the payment plan.
Def not worth VIP for a jamband festi.
But you get to camp in the woods, free food and beer, and up front space at the 2 biggest stages. I haven't done it, but if I go, I'm seriously considering VIP this year.
I'm with Clairity on this VIP thought process. I went Main Venue early arrival and I spent more than the VIP price in those 5 days when you add it all up. Of course I spent several hundred dollars on things I probably could have done without, but that's neither here nor there lol. But I'm getting older, the less walking I have to do the better. And being upfront for some of my fav bands is something you can't put a price tag on.

That is a massive difference between GA and VIP. Pack smart and bring all your own booze and smuggle it into shows and save bank. VIP camping is never as cool because the GA people can't get to your camp, friends or strangers. I bring my own food and drink and barely spend anything inside festis except for souvenirs. If you're swimming in cash def go for it though, that dancing space up front is badass.

I think these are some pretty strong adds...Umph, Shpongle, TEED, and Karl Denson are all really solid. I've been dying to catch TEED, hopefully he is everywhere this summer.

Def check out Calexico!! They are amazing live. Red Baraat is the heat, see them while they are low on the card they will get bigger every year. Amon Tobin is a great add, and MUTEMATH is going to be sickness with a Waka crowd. If they add ZPZ I am def going.
