Someone with just as bad luck as me this happened to me this weekend also. I tend to go to gangsta rap with any lyrics along the lines of "fuk b*tches, get money" or "bit*hes aint Sh*t but ho's and tricks"... I only feel this way about one particular female.

I feel ya, top reason I got into Curren$y - more like corn and business but totally with you

Ah, never fun, Jackson - best wishes for a quick recovery. Well, it's been a really long time since I've been in a breakup, though I had quite a few in the late 80s, so most of my breakup music would be pretty old. However, I was pretty much drunk-on-wine and get emo after a breakup so my music was skewed, yet timeless:
etc...
The beauty of this approach for me was that after a few days, I was forced to ask myself what kind of man I was, and after looking at what I was listening to and why I was listening to it - answered myself, not much of one then, right? It was very motivational in getting off the couch.
Sorry to hear this, Jackson. I went through the same sh*t last year, and music is basically all that kept me from becoming a shell of a human being that just survived on brown liquors and anger (which is what happened, but music kept me from killing someone, I think).
Basically, I did what Juggs said to do. Listened to melancholy sh*t for a couple of weeks, then one day I woke up on a Saturday, went for a run, and 5 minutes in I was raging to Mastadon, Death Grips, and any other insane angry workout music. I finished my run feeling better than I had felt in weeks, and went out to the bar on a mission to get laid.
...that didn't happen, but the thought was there, and that's what counts.
Anyway, feel better dude, happens to all of us, and you're in college which is easily the best place on earth to break up with someone at.

That one has a very personal reason so it might not be the best breakup music for another person.
Set this one on repeat.
And like Flanzo said, take in a couple of weeks of this and then go for a run or to the gym throw on some Stooges or something and it'll wake you right up and out of the house.

Sorry to hear about the many folks going through breakups.
I had something strange happen last week. Short version: met a girl at a festival earlier this year, hit it off, kept talking after the fest, she invited me to make the 2000 mile trip to visit, I did, it was awesome... and then 2 days after I got back, she decided to quit talking to me, apparently (this was never stated, but 3 unanswered texts over a week period is pretty much my limit).
She's younger and in a very different life place than me, and it was clearly a low probability thing anyway, but it sorta sucks.
Anyway, this album has been playing for me a lot. Not sure it's breakup music, but it seems to be making me happier.
Oh, and this probably doesn't qualify either, but I've been listening to it as well...
please bleed, so i know you are real. so i know you can feel, the damage you've done. oh who have i become? to myself i am numb, i am numb, i am numb. (basically live on mars disc 2 on repeat)
i'm the next act waiting in the wings, i'm an animal trapped in your hot car, i am all the days that you chose to ignore. you are all i need, you're all i need.
leave me out with the waste, this is not what I do. it's the wrong kind of place, to be thinking of you.
and also, there always seems to be an artist associated with each relationship i have, so i usually play that shiz a lot and then get pissed that i will always think of that craphole while i'm listening to that band. boooooooo
after that instead of listening to sad music, i listen to dancey break-up music like this and feel happier:
i've got some news for you, fembots have feelings too. you split my heart in two, now what you gonna do?
