I've done this as well and for the most part people that change their names on here tend to revert back to their original eventually. Were you around when everyone was "SBTRKT"-ing their user names and putting masks on their avatars? It was a fun little thing but most people reverted back eventually.
I've changed my name on here once as a joke but for the most part I've used this username on here and other boards for years.
This is my second name, sometimes the name changes are practical. Mine was Knoxville for years...I chose it as a homage to where I lived, and out of pure lack of imagination and laziness. when I moved I felt the need to find something different. :-)

I admit the SBTRKT phase was pretty fun, that's a good point. so there is a beneficial creative aspect to being able to change your name.

It's usually easier when it's a member who has made a name/reputation for themselves before altering their name. Like....Juggs has barely been "Oh It's the Juggernaut biznatch" in the past couple of years but everyone still refers to him by "Juggs" from his original name (which he will revert back to occasionally). Sometimes newer board members start to do it after only being here a few months and a lot of people can't keep track of who they were. Especially if they go through a few name changes.
