there is definitely SEC bias. I would like to see ND win just for that reason. with the SEC losing their 3 biggest games it might temper that a little bit.

Yet again, LSU was the 4th highest ranked team. Just because they played Clemson doesn't mean anyone else cared.
Also, when the ACC is 8-1 in BCS title games with the only loss coming from another ACC team, we will discuss which conference deserves to be cocky going into the title game.
What I find funny is the Irish almost losing to Stanford is looked at more negatively than Bama actually losing to A&M.
I think it has a lot to do with the SEC bias in the media, but whatever.
Just looking forward to a fun game tonight.
Yeah, it does seem like people have forgotten about that loss really quick. I think it will be a close game which will be nice considering the sh*t show the NFL put on this weekend.
What's funny is I loved this weekend's games, with the exception of the Packers thumping of Minnesota.
I'm a defensive guy, so hard-nosed slugfests are my favorite. I am fully aware that this is not what 99% of the country wants, though.
Actually, that part makes me enjoy those games even more.

more people watched LSU. more people cared. it was a bigger game.

I swear to Jeebus, sang. They need to study your brain to determine what enzyme malfunction causes you to love college football so much yet talk about it at the level of someone who doesn't know the difference between an inside and outside linebacker.
Although I really could care less who wins tonight, this is the last college football game for over 7 months. That makes me sad. It's been a lot of fun having this thread to cheer & vent in throughout the season.
I do have to say I am SICK of Bama in the NC game. Here's to my team getting there next year!!!
SEC bias, what the quack are you all talking about? ??? Are you serious? Please find some stats where the SEC has not been the dominating conference the past years. Can any one provide a little bit of data to prove another Conference that is better than the SEC? For starters, how about we look at the National Champion for the past 7 years.

There is a bias that pretty much guarantees that an SEC team will play for the championship, no matter what. I can't argue against what happens when they get there, but during the season there are definitely things in place that sway things in the direction of SEC teams. I've linked articles about that get ignored or ridiculed, but they are the truth. A playoff system is the only way to settle it for real, not this 4 team business. If there is a playoff and the SEC still dominates the way they do then I will give them full credit.
Do you think all media is bias towards the SEC? ESPN? CBS? SI? Yahoo sport? Scout.com? Are you saying that the SEC is not the best conference? With the system in place, I think the best conference should get a shot at the National Title. I agree 100% the system needed to be changed a long time ago and I am glad to see that happening. So if Bias is talking about the best conference more than other conferences, what is it when one school, no matter how good or bad their record maybe, plays on TV, every Saturday?
And that team just got their asses handed to them by an SEC team.

People who complain about the SEC being in the BCS game every year would have more traction if they ever lost in it. Also, the playoff takes away the conference cap that is in the BCS bowl series, so get ready for people to complain when the SEC has 2 of 4 teams every year.
To use sang's evidence against him again, please notice that 5 out of the top 10 teams are SEC teams.

definitely ESPN. It profits them for the SEC to do well, so they're constantly pumping them up. They should change the name to the SEC Network. They are constantly overhyping everything. The SEC speed myth, the SEC toughness myth, all that garbage. I'm not denying that the SEC is a great conference that has great teams. But they're not as far ahead as ESPN leads people to believe.
I think ESPN is more forced into a love affair with the SEC than anything. How could they not constantly talk about them? They had 2 teams that could have played in the national championship and UGA could have won against the Notre Dame team that showed up on Monday. They had one of the most enigmatic freshman to play the game, culminating in a Heisman. As far as story lines go, you can't get much bigger than that for a conference. It'd be one thing if ESPN was nit-picking for stories, but I mean... those ARE the national stories

they also profit from it. they actually contribute to how good these SEC teams are because all anyone hears is about SEC this, SEC that, it influences kids to go play there. Also in the case of A&M, that team came into the mighty SEC and immediately was one of the best teams, beat their best team and had a Heisman winner. What to say about that?
