shiz! I was at work, I saw the Bama Int and thought it was over, I went back to work. A few minutes later I check back and Bama is celebrating and the game is over. I figured they just ran out the clock, now I get home and read about that ending. That was a good game. Georgia has nothing to be ashamed of, they and Bama played their donkeys off. Hope everyone enjoyed that National Championship game, as much as I did.
I am insanely proud of my Bulldogs. Although it was a heartbreaking loss, and could have ended differently, the team played with heart and with class....as did Alabama.
Clearly one of the best college football games that I have ever seen (had it recorded on DVR so I watched what I missed before I got off work).
And...I'm not so sure that given a rematch under ideal conditions, that we couldn't have pulled off the win. It was that close.
The real travesty of the whole situation is that under the royally effed up BCS system, the loser of that game between #2 and #3 in the nation now may miss out on a BCS bowl bid at all. Could have been Alabama just as easily, and it's wrong for either team to miss out on a major bowl with the performances they gave during the regular season and last night.
I will leave you with this: DAMN GOOD DAWG WOOF WOOF WOOF
I actually think Wisconsin/Stanford will be a great game. Two pro-style offenses that will just line up and try to physically pummel you.
That's my kind of game, at least. I'd rather watch a 6-3 game than a 38-35 game (I realize I'm in the vast minority in feeling this way, so be it).
Hungover.
I don't really disagree with you, it's just that Bielema's clock management can be SO terrible that if it's yet another super close Rose Bowl, I don't have confidence that he won't f*ck it up.
no. they fire a veteran, great coach and hire some flash in the pan because he wins 11 games at n. Illinois. stupid move.
Coming from the Clemson fan, whose current head coach had zero head coaching experience in his life. Logical.
different situation. I don't see it working out for them. but I also don't believe they can be much better than they are right now. they have fsu and Clemson to contend with every year and now possibly Louisville.

You're right. Doeren has experience as being a coordinator too and not just as a position coach.

dabo had been at Clemson for a while and was known as a great recruiter. they knew he could get the players to come here. they were just hoping he would be able to coach them. the guy nc st just hired has no experience recruiting in the south. that does matter.

It looks like NIU is playing FSU in the orange bowl. Pretty embarrassing for the BCS imo. On the same note, "With Northern Illinois, Louisville and Wisconsin all earning BCS bowls, it marks the first time in the BCS era (since 1999) that three teams ranked lower than No. 15 earned a BCS bowl berth." More reason for the BCS to be shown the door.

It just shows further that the system is in no way there to pit the best teams against each other. I mean, NIU played only 2 major conference schools...lost to 4-8 Iowa and could barely beat 1-10 kansas. Their biggest in-conference competitor was Kent St, who got creamed by KENTUCKY, smh.
I think they just wanted so badly to have a "cinderella" team. There have been legit ones in the past, but this is not one of them.
To be fair, Oklahoma has about one impressive win this year. What's worse about the system is that teams like Georgia and LSU can't make it because of the conference rules. They'd be 25 pt. favorites against NIU on a neutral field.

This. 4 top 10 teams are automatically not eligible due to only allowing two teams from each conference.
This week should be the week for UT to hire somebody. I am not expecting it until Wednesday at least due to Fulmer's big NYC banquet tomorrow and Hart interviewing people there apparently. I so excite!
