Damn, I am in serious need of an upgrade to my old VHS of this... it's almost impossible to find a DVD of this from a reputable seller online for under $50. This is one of those instances (like with Last Detail) where a Blu Ray upgrade to a classic is necessary, with the movie getting lost in the format transition (even with the DVDs, I don't think they stayed in print for too long or were very widely distributed) and becoming something of a forgotten flick. Needless to say, one of my top 3 absolute favorite war related films.
I'm sure some of you have, but I'm surprised that I've never seen any discussion of it around here. It makes Troll 2, MANOS, et al, look like the friggin' Godfather.
Yeah, I have to say that Birdemic is probably the worst movie I've seen that was made during my lifetime... and I've seen many, many bad ones, from the well known turds to the hidden, fossilized dung. Birdemic also has a tremendous Rifftrax (and if you looked back a few pages you'd see that I have posted on it), but the movie works on its own. It is unbelievable. I could watch it over and over, and in fact I have... I watched it three times in the span of a week, once.
My favorite line of the movie: "I bet you look great in those lingerie."
I think Birdemic is the more inept of the two movies, for certain. I love Troll 2... however, I think it may be a little overhyped in just how bad it really is. Don't get me wrong, it is a terrible, terrible movie and there is a lot to enjoy about it, but I have seen far worse movies than this... love it, still. If you haven't, check out the documentary on it, which is actually a legit good doc:
The other day, I was thinking of starting a thread for bad movie discussion, actually.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I actually liked it quite a bit. There were a few flaws; a little weird on the visual effects at one point and I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. Overall, though, it was an enjoyable watch.

EAP and crazykittensmile, you will be happy to know that I started watching the newest season the other day. I am almost current having just watched the hardware/flower episode. One of the things I forgot is that I get extremely wrapped up in the design critique. My older son laughed at me yesterday when I yelled at the TV because they were praising an abomination.

Also, this guy is the f*cking best.
This warms my heart
The aufing for the hardware/flower episode was complete BS! Sometimes it's so obvious they're keeping/dumping certain people based on their personality vs their design chops. Still freaking LOVE the show. I was skeptical of the "group" season at first, but have warmed up to it! So far it's one of my favorite seasons in recent memory.

I do like the group dynamic of this season. I seems to be making some of the designers better.
Re: the aufing, were you speaking more to their choice between the two in the bottom or the people that were in the bottom to begin with? Looking at just the two in the bottom, I think the dresses were pretty even myself. If anything, I think they made the choice more off the perceived potential for those designers to progress in the future.

I disliked that they slammed him over the "proportion" and I totally agreed with (whatever his name was), that not everything has to be skin tight. Plus I liked how he used the flowers. AND in the same breath they praised the outfit that looked like someone had dragged a fishing net through a flower field and vegetable bin

hahahahaha. I dislike the designer who created the second one intensely, but I had to admit that it had a certain flow to it when it was on the runway. If anything, they should have gotten rid of designer two when they made that hot mess in the Heidi challenge. I love that they went out of their way to make a unique material for the dress, but that doesn't mean that the unique material doesn't look like sh*t.
