Just watched episode 9 of Transparent. This show is so beautiful. I just love it so much.
Who's your favorite character? I had a hard time choosing.
You mean i have to choose between Bradley Whitford and Judith Light? All of these characters, even the smaller ones are so layered and interesting. Carrie Brownstein in this last episode went somewhere i didnt see coming.
As far as the core cast, It'll have to be Moira. Jeffrey Tambor is really amazing in this and i see him as her.
Did you watch last season of Arrested Development? Didnt they make it seem like George Bluth was experiencing some sort of awakening along these lines?

I actually didn't watch the last season, that's an interesting (possible) connection.
I'm a sucker for character development, so I'm a sucker for this show. It started out a little too titillating (I almost tapped out a couple episodes in) but ended more subtly.
Ok I'm halfway through season 1 of Twin Peaks...someone please explain. What the hell is going on? Is Twin Peaks supposed to be campy? Am I not smart enough to know what's going on? Why does David Lynch do this to me?
I'm assuming you're familiar with Lynch, right? Yes it's campy and corny, but it's incredibly self-aware (which is what makes it great).

Go watch Eraserhead and get back to me.
I have watched Eraserhead, and I'm back with you. And I mean I know it's Lynch and all, but idk this just is a different kind of camp.
Why? That's not a knock against the show. It's a statement on the overall banality of a large majority of television shows. That this show got a green light and became a pop culture milestone is pretty miraculous.

I took it differently, sorry. Due to the campy statements, I took it as its (the show) bad, and I'm shocked it got picked up for television. I love twin peaks. I watched it when it aired originally and it may feel canpy now, but at the time it was edgy, dark and there was nothing like it. Plus, I love how characters have their own individual music.

So Fury was pretty damn good. Way exceeded my expectations.
crazykittensmile - Step Bros is amazing, a true gem of the "goofy-comedy" genre. I can't believe you've not seen it!
and re: Twin Peaks - yeah I can imagine at the time that the show was viewed in a very different light than we now see it. But I'm amazed it was picked up. It's just... unlike anything else that's ever been on TV.

The first season of the Ricky Gervais show 'Derek' is now on Netflix. I'm on episode 4 and love it. Extremely funny yet tender hearted and sad. Makes me feel bi-polar but in a good way. Definitely check it out.
On episode 2 & 3.
i want to like this show, but i feel bad, or wrong, or something watching it. i guess he is supposed to be autistic? i just felt like some of the things that were "funny" were not something the character did on purpose per say, but more that he was being weird or whatever.

That's pretty typical of Gervais. Did you ever watch the UK Office? If so, did it not make you feel the same way sometimes? It was A LOT more uncomfortable then the American one. I would close my eyes and shake my head at how awkward it could get.
