Looks like Radiohead should have just gotten their own list. The only album that really surprises me in the top 20 is The Suburbs. I thought most people agreed that one was plain shizzy.

The distinction index on there is about the only thing on there that's interesting. People from DC were most likely to have Lauryn Hill on their lists. Rage was #3, bro.
edit: Also surprised Jens Lekman got no love. He was one Radiohead album away from getting shut out completely. He's not even popular in Sweden.

This list sucks. It's like people submitted lists of what they thought Pitchfork would like. The hip-hop selections are especially horrendous - I like Kanye West and Jay-Z, but come the f*ck on.
How is My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in the top 10? It's not even the best Kanye album.
Life After Death and R U Still Down? came out in 1997, for those keeping score at home.
Well, R U Still Down? is absolutely awful and Tupac is the most overrated rapper I've ever heard, but whatever.
By and large the majority of people voting on this list likely didn't really start listening to music before, oh, 2004 or so. The votes for albums from the 90s like OK Computer and whatnot are based more on those voters believing they need to like those albums, because Pitchfork tells them so.
it makes me sad that This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About didn't make the list at all, probably because it wasn't in the database
but yeah, nothing's surprising about that list at all, loved reading through everyone's list on here though
