Honestly I don't know the exact chronology of events per SFA voting for LD. He may have done that before Phi deleted his post. This would make everything seem pretty straightforward.
I'm almost positive Phi's post was still up when I posted. I got distracted before responding, so he could have deleted in that time frame (10 minutes at the most). I honestly don't think it matters either way because I saw it as joking around and it really had no bearing on my vote. Just wanted to get the ball rolling and get a voting partner.
Speaking of which, why is everyone so flipping quite?

Changing my vote twice in this post. First to SFA for luck, since it has continued to work out. I do not think he has done anything suspicious at this point. It is just force of habit. I actually agree with him, and find it very quiet in here, although it is still Day 1.
I am voting for roo, since for the first time, someone beat me to picking a partner. Roo has played with me enough games to know that I always switch off on day 1 to SFA and then on to another person, making selecting me as a VP a good way to avoid any votes in Day 1. It could just be that we have partnered up before, and that I typically defend him, but at the very least, I think it warrants some discussion.
As far as the Kiko / Phi situation, I would be more willing to chalk it up to a first game issue if Kiko had not seen Phi's post prior to Phi deleting it, but Kiko acknowledged seeing it, and voting for LD anyways. It may just be Kiko's MO since it is his first game, but if it is an MO, and you say you are going to vote the first person to post below you, seems strange to break it right away.
As for Phi, I was wrong about him my first game, so I will let someone else figure out that piece of the puzzle. Like Bacon, he is difficult for me to figure out, since we play the game so much differently.

I thought of changing the vote to Phi, but decided it was sort of a technicality by that point. His original intent, as he said, was to trick me into having to vote for myself, which I would've done had his ploy worked. Now that I think about it, LD probably does deserve the vote anyway, just for falling for it lol. If it was some mafia ploy to trick some sorry soul into being voted on, it would have to be the most transparent and visible strategy of all time.
2 things:
1) Can we avoid "roo" as a shorthand name this game? We have both a Roonectar and Jimmyroo. It could get confusing to some.
2) Though it's obvious Phi was just trying to game someone, there probably should be a rule against deleting or modifying old posts unless it's ran by the admin. I could see a situation where an incriminating old post is deleted or modified.

There is an unwritten but frequently spoken rule about not editing or deleting. The message is 'it's frowned upon'. It is not a rule as players have differing opinions on the rule and it can/is sometimes used as a game tactic. Edits/Deletes almost always get called out by someone.

I'm at work and will not be home until around 7:30 EST. I almost want to null my vote because I feel this is another first round were the mafia is sitting back letting the townies eat each other alive. I've had good luck switching up the the early leads for the 1st round runoff the last sevearl games. I just don't know where I'd switch my vote.
I know LD ended up being mafia when the townies voted him off early last game. I just don't like the odds of him being mafia AND being placed in the first round runoff two games in a row.
Thoughts? I'll try to get home as soon as I can but if the ref sticks to her deadline I'll respect that as well.

Dont want to rush anyone.. If there is active conversation about the game (not just BS-ing) and vote movement, it will stay open. Will try to be clear about 'tentative' vs. deadline. Also I try to accommodate schedules without too much impact.
As SFA suggested - i respect the Null vote and take that to mean that a player wants more time. Use it judiciously, not willy nilly all- the- time please

obviously i knew people would know i deleted it. no mafia in the right mind would do this.
if you really are a townie, i suggest you think over your vote again, and i'll do the same.
First off when I read your post it really didn't cross my mind that you were just going to delete it like that, i guess that's part of the reason too for my vote. You have played this game before and should also know that doing crap like that will typically get you votes, especially in the first round when there isn't much to go on other than whims and grudges from previous games. I don't intend to hold my vote for you through a runoff or anything, but someone has to be the one to double up votes and I saw a reason to, temporarily at least.
I don't want to associate myself with Phi too much because I don't like his gameplay so far, but I do agree that it doesn't make much sense for a mafia to do what he did - making a post and then deleting it/causing mass confusion.
Then again, I wouldn't be opposed to voting for him to just remove a complicating player from the game.
First round is a crapshoot but ensuing confusion draws a red flag for me because its pretty much the only thing that's happened besides who has partnered up
