Exactly! Should terms on a menu be interpreted according to the literal meaning given them by the restaurant's founding fathers (and mothers)? Or is a menu a living document that evolves as the nation's tastes and eating habits evolve?
Most Supreme Court scholars believe that the cleavage/side boob debate will make it to the Supreme Court long before the sandwich/hamburger debate. But I think they're giving too strict a construction to the term "high court."
I was actually thinking about this thread yesterday. One of my guests ordered a Cuban Sandwich. The food runner decided to give him a Factory Burger (hamburger on sourdough baguette) instead. I caught myself saying, "Are you serious?! Those aren't even slightly similar besides the fact that they are both sandwiii..chhe....essss. oh" I was ashamed of myself and slightly confused.
