So thankful I haven't turned on a radio in years. Other than a few seconds of that bass song, I have no exposure to any other ones on that list =) I thought y'all were talking about that happy song from Celo Green when I read the title lololol
I was 14 and had just moved back to America from overseas. I only owned 3 CDs, two of which were Green Day, so my knowledge of music was microscopic. I was setting up a desk with my Dad listening to the "cool" college rock station I had just discovered and they said "Caller 10 wins free tickets to one of the shows we are sponsoring!". And I won. And lost.
Weird way to start off my lifetime of going to concerts.
That horrible, but at least you'll never see a worst concert in your life
Today I've spent an absurd amount of time listening to covers of songs on Youtube and I keep finding myself listening to Ed Sheeran's covers of various songs... After this first one in particular, you can color me a fan. I am an Ed Sheeran fan. (granted, I have yet to listen to any of his actual songs. But boy can sing.)

“Music has always been a matter of Energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio.” - Hunter Thompson

I see a lot of people talking about their first concert. My first concert was Garth Brooks..some can laugh and say its awful, and I understand and accept that, but he does actually put on a good show, plus it was back in his prime.

This thread was the best reading material of my day.
I only know that fancy song because I live in New Orleans and they play that "who dat, who dat" part all the time. Didn't know she was saying I-G-G-Y until I got to Austin for ACL and my girl told me/played the song for me.
I've only heard happy five times and it's all been in the last month, ugh. Due to teenager and apparently once you hear it, you'll keep hearing it.
But my biggest confession is, I only like the album Ten (sorta, mostly just a couple songs on it) and am not a pearl jam fan even though I've seen them 6 times. I hate them more every time I see them.
I do love Star Wars, Breaking Bad, the Wire, Indiana Jones (except newest) and screw Citizan Kane.

Re: Pearl Jam. Look at this post, luva. I know you always like it when people hate on them.
Re: the rest, you wanna get married, Vieux? That list has all smitten.

Wow if I knew that was all I had to say to get a proposal... That was way too easy, or you're just too easy Dave Maynar

look, I'm no die hard PJ fan like PorchRadio, but come on. how can you see a show live and NOT like it??? Such a great show!!!!!!!!!!
and Dave Maynar, you are SOOOO easy it's not even funny
I enjoyed their set at ACL. I wanted to see them but we saw Calvin Harris instead. Went back over and caught the last 20-30mins of them and really enjoyed it. His voice is a little annoying, but it didn't bother me live as much as it does on record. Anyways, it was a great way to end the weekend and I'm glad we went over.

I don't...what....annoying? bu..Calvin Harris????
I didn't make the decision for the Calvin Harris. That was more so, "there isn't anything else going on." I didn't even pay attention to his set really.
But, since this is the confession thread and all, I did have a lot of fun at his set. I hooped the whole time, was shiiiiiit faced drunk, and don't remember much of it. But I danced my little heart out.

I was forced by before mentioned best festie girl to Calvin Harris. I people watched and learned that nobody, not the cute but weird white family with two teenage kids, hot girls or normal person in general know how to dance to that music. What a freak show! I did enjoy the end of ACL though, regardless of PJ. I mean how do you not love, laying in a field with your best friend, staring at the stars with live music and festival lights in the background. That's got to be what heaven is like right? Even your not favorite music in that environment is wonderful, only really bad music could ruin that.

That basically sums up the last time I was at a Tiesto show. Got hammered pre-gaming with Grey Goose, probably had a few Bud heavys while at the venue, and white boy danced like a total idiot.

And you fun, right? That sounds like a great freaking night to me....

I need to go to more EDM shows. Disclosure was fun.
I got a ticket to Above & Beyond in February, but I also will have class that night. If I don't have anything important in class that night, I might skip.

I tried to see Above & Beyond when I was in Miami last year. You should def try to go. I always have a blast at EDM shows. Actually, the first concert I went to alone was Pretty Lights with full band. That was a GREAT freaking time, soooooo much dancing. And alcohol.
At Freefest a couple years ago, I caught the last 20 min of the Above & Beyond set. I wanted to see them, but they conflicted against Jack White. I had wanted to see them live for years before that, and while I'm not into EDM as much as I used to be - A&B are still a white whale in my mind.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Were they in that forest stage or whatever?
When it was up front by the entrance, not the year it was way in the back.
I tried to google SANGSMOM last year because I actually thought they were a band
Welcome to the boards. Hope you stick around and have a great time here. I'm also so happy that you (and probably many others) tried to google SANGSMOM. My favorite thing about the joke was seeing websites post the lineups with Sangsmom included. So great.

That truly is one of my favorite things to ever come out of Inforoo. I'm too lazy to go back and search, but who came up with it originally?
