I've gotten my 16, 15, and 14 wrong so far. I've been doing confidence pools with my family since I was like 10 and I can just about guarantee that was a first for me. It was a fun two days in first place.
I wanted to add my 2 cents to the replacement referee discussion. Some good points have been made, but heaven forbid I keep my mouth shut...haha...especially since the Packers came out on the short end.
First of all, yes, even the regular refs are human, and mistakes do get made from time to time. However, for this many miscalls to be made, and for them to be so egregious in nature, is inexcusable. Plus the fact that there were three made toward the end of a tight contest.
Someone earlier pointed out that even one bad call early in a game can change the course of a game. Sure, it can...I've seen it happen. It can change momentum for sure. But the severity and number of the missed and bad calls in this game blew my mind.
Offensive interference does not get called that often, but the Shields/Rice play was a textbook example. And Jennings had possession of that ball on the last play all the way down....not to mention that there was interference by Tate, who pushed a defender out of the way.
I'm still pissed. Even more so that the NFL stood by the game.
Since I need to say something nice...I do like the Seahawks' uniforms...LOL. I do want some shoes like that.
The Packers will come back next week strong and ready to exact revenge. Cheeseheads unite!
I'm confused. It's plenty early to still make up enough points to place. Any more than one week though, and it's unlikely. sda and mrmonotone are screwed.
I think it would be near impossible to catch up after missing a whole week. Especially since there seem to be some good pickers this year. I thought I had a good week but I fell like three spots in the standings...
