Yeah, to be honest, I'm not sure I'm feelin' that squad, Squid Who was your third round pick, Gore? I'm assuming Megatron was your 1st and Cam was your 2nd? Your RBs are pretty atrocious.

Yeah thats how it went down lol. First round everyone snagged RB and I was 8th to pick so I figured Id nail Megatron. And Cam was my first pick for QB so I knabbed him round 2.

To be honest, even for a 12 team league your roster seems pretty weak. Then again I'm not as high on Cam as some. I still have him as like 6th or 7th QB which I guess isn't a huge different compared to most; I just don't know that he repeats his otherworldly rushing numbers. He was pretty pedestrian passing after his monster first two weeks, so if he gets "only" like 7-8 rushing TD's compared to last years 14, he could see a decent drop off.

I think Cam is going to surpass expectation with his passing game this year, and even though there is a year of tape on him, hes gonna step up his running game. I also got Andrew Luck on my bench as a backup, I got a gut feeling but I am worried the colts arent where they need to be for him to be completely effective.
As for Gore and Hillis, I think they will do better than expected, but I do wish I had some better RBs.
With that being said, I just got into FF a few weeks ago lol. Still its surprisingly exciting.
Your steal is Decker, who will be the newest winner of the "Peyton Manning's White WR" sweepstakes. Wouldn't shock me to see him get over 80 catches, and maybe even close in on 100.
I think sCam is going to regress, like Josh Freeman before him. I realize Newton's more of a running threat, but eventually teams are going to flood the field with zone coverage and force him to throw it rather than try to juke his way past 4 people for a first down.
Hillis seems healthy and motivated, but he's one surly mother f*cker when he's not happy, and he's not displacing Charles, as long as he's healthy. I'd like him as a 3rd RB, not a 2nd.
As someone who finally divorced Gates last season, all I can say is good luck. You'll either love him or hate him with literally no middle ground. You won't finish the season going "you know, Gates was really solid for me..." You'll either say "Gates' toe can f*ckin' fall off for all I care at this piont. How do you miss 8 weeks because of turf toe? HOW!?"....or "Gates is the f*cking MAN! I LOVE THIS GUY!"
There are always some RB's, WR's and TE's that come out of the woodwork to be huge contributors. My suggestion is to keep your ears out for RB waiver pickups. Guys always get hurt, so there will be potential starting material to be had during the season.
Team's not bad, and full point PPR definitely increases its value.

I appreciate the advice and feedback. A friend of mine pretty much said the exact thing about Gates word for word lol. And yeah after Mannings short stint the other day, I figured Decker was a good bet.

I like Cam Newton a lot. If you look at the projections on most sites, even if he regresses to 8 rushing TDs and has, say, a 24/16 TD/int ratio or even 22/18 ratio and throws for 3500 yards while rushing for around 600-700 yards, he's STILL on pace to finish in the top 3-5 of all QBs, and by a fairly wide margin from the rest of the pack. And to me, that's the WORST case scenario for Cam statistically. I like Cam a whole lot. Still, I don't know if I would've picked him THAT early in the second round.

Are you a Panthers fan?
The worst case scenario for Cam is regression. Meaning, a negative TD/INT ratio, more fumbles, comp % under 60% (his mark last year).
The Panthers sucked last year, so Cam played from behind in nearly every game, against prevent defenses and 6-DB sets (since he was always passing.
That makes it easier to a) pass the ball underneath for big chunks of YAC and b) run the ball himself with wide open running lanes. This year, however, the Panthers defense will not be the sieve it's been the past few years, so Cam will be playing with leads for a change, defenses won't be thinned out all game and he'll have to work against condensed defensive fronts.
I think Cam is good, I don't think he's good enough to beat the NFL in Year 2 when everyone will be gunning for him.

I know what you mean and I agree to an extent; I'm not the world's biggest Cam Newton fan by any stretch, but I think he's pretty valuable from a fantasy standpoint.
All I meant was this: Rotoworld (just to use an example) has him projected for 3581 pass yards, a 24/16 TD/INT ratio, 640 rushing yards, and 8 rushing TDs. Obviously, it COULD be worse than that, but those seem like pretty conservative/realistic projections to me. Even with those numbers, he would project to finish with 353 fantasy points (according to Rotoworld's standard scoring), which is good for #3 amongst quarterbacks.
If you're thinking he will have a NEGATIVE TD/INT ratio and rush for even less than 640 yards and 8 TDs, then I guess yeah, that would be a worst case scenario. But 24/16 is a pretty mediocre (maybe even below average) TD-to-int ratio, and I think Cam is certainly capable of attaining those very mediocre numbers through the air.
The difference, of course, is his rushing numbers. I agree with your assessment that he won't be able to run like he did in his rookie year, but those figures (640 yards and 8 TDs) are both down significantly from his rookie year. You gotta figure that he'll still have a bunch of rushing attempts, so even if his YPC isn't where it was last year (5.6 YPC last year), he'll accumulate some rushing yards and TDs just by virtue of the amount of carries he'll have. Not to mention that <3600 passing yards is WAY down from his rookie total of 4000 yards. So those projections definitely account for some regression.
I'm not saying he'll be a good real-life NFL quarterback per se; I'm just saying that Cam is a good fantasy pick because he doesn't have to put up above average numbers through the air to outscore most fantasy QBs when you break down the numbers. And if he does happen to put up decent numbers through the air, that's a bonus and it might give you the top-scoring fantasy QB in football.
Hey, you don't have to tell em about the disconnect between fantasy sports and reality. Mark Sanchez was a top-15 player in the NFL last year. Not QB. Player.
There's no way in the f*cking world I'd ever take him to be my starter in fantasy, soooo....yayyy Jets!

I'm a diehard Chargers fan and there's no way in hell I'd argue Philip Rivers was a top-15 NFL player last year. And Rivers is head-and-shoulders above Sanchez.
I'm assuming flanz meant fantasy player, cause I think he had like 6 rushing touchdowns too.
Yeah, I thought that would be obvious with the whole fantasy/reality comment, guess not.
There isn't enough whiskey on Earth to make me think Sanchez is a top 15 player in real life.
Edit: And Marky Mark is slamming Eva Longoria, so he dynamo-BJ's for no man.
Ahhhh, I thought you were saying that he's a sh*tty fantasy player but top-15 real life player. My bad. That's crazy he was that high in the fantasy rankings, I didn't think there was any way.

32 total TD's, 6 rushing. 26 turnovers and he still scored more fantasy points than most WR's and RB's.
My draft is in a week. I haven't paid any attention to anything yet. Every year I am That Guy in the league who drafts a great team but wind up facing other teams having career weeks - for instance, I had the highest points scored of any team last year...but also the most scored against. Missed the playoffs. I'm sure it'll happen again.
That happens to me quite often
EDIT: And Frank Gore is still available in the offline draft league I'm in. 12 teams. Currently halfway thru the 5th round. I'd be a little surprised if he goes before the end of the 5th. Then again, Adrian Peterson was 33rd overall - right before I got Fred Jackson at 34th.

This 16 team league is going to seriously mess with my head this year. Used to playing 10 team leagues. Just realized my backup RB will be #2 on a depth chart.

I've spent tons of time adjusting qb point systems in my league to try and put them on an even level with the other players. We have a pretty good system in place right now, but we are also coming off a year where qb production was at an all-time high. So I worry of production goes down, qbs will be below the rest of the league.

Qbs will always be more valuable, but last year was the extreme. I mean, when Mark Sanchez scores the 14th most fantasy points, there's a problem there (especially since he was absolutely horrific the final 3 weeks, which tapered off his scoring).
I think the elite, elite QBs (top 5-6, let's say) will stay way up there, but a lot of the other guys will regress.

Uhhhhh is there still a spot open? I love fantasy football and never thought to look for one on here before now. I would love a spot! Send me an email at mmcmaho2@utk.edu with an invite if so!
League is maxed out, 20 players. Sorry about that.
Oh... this is my draft so far in another board league:
1. Matt Stafford (10) 2. Ron Gronkowski (15) 3. Fred Jackson (34) 4. Mike Wallace (39) 5. Kenny Britt (58) 6. Brandon Lloyd (63)
QBs get pretty favorable status in this league, hence Stafford in the first round 10th overall. I might have made a reach on Gronk, but I wasn't sure if there was gonna be any top end TEs when it got back to me. 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 3 R/W/T
