For all we know, it may have been Petty at some point. Things change as negotiations and schedules unfold.

Pretty bold prediction on Festivalsnob's part. It's not like there's a long history of the lineup dropping on a Tuesday right around Valentines Day. If it wasn't for his inside sources he'd have nothing to go on.

I think Festival Snob is right about the lineup release date, but that's only because it's common sense:

2012: Feb. 14
2011: Feb. 15
2010: Feb. 9
2009: Feb. 3

It'll almost certainly be Feb. 12 this year, with an outside chance it's Feb. 5 or Feb. 19

Like I said, I'm far from expecting him to be on there, but it's something fun to speculate on in the meantime since we've pretty much got the headliners all sussed out (it'll be Macca/Petty/Mumford or Macca/Petty/WSP/Mumford).

As long as Macca is there I don't quacking care who the other headliners are. Especially with how good the undercard is starting to look.

Way back when the WSP talk started, wasn't it claimed that they'd only being a late-night?

I think that a was part of the rumor when it started circulating. So if that's the case, wonder who the Sunday headliner is than, Petty, maybe- which would mean I'd have to stay til Monday and miss more work, if I can make it til Monday.

I've yet to read anything that has Mumford confirmed from a source, not even one as sketchy as a friend of a friend who delivered pizza to a party where an intern from AC was working, and or some sort of train phone conversation....

Also Macca is confirmed from several members inside sources, however even in the past headliners that were supposedly confirmed have failed to make it to the lineup (i'm thinking Neil Young last year for instance)

I guess what i'm trying to say, is, I wouldn't be surprised if the headliners turn out to be:

Tom Petty - Pheonix - WSP

And, ultimately if that meant an undercard like Coachella's and no Unchained / Fat City late night show, i'm all for it.

All this being said... Macca is definitely going to be there.

Also, Neil Young was never "confirmed" last year. Talks supposedly failthrough with him but that wasn't common knowledge on the boards. That situation was absolutely nothing like the one we find ourselves in with Sir Paul. Like nothing at all like it.

I never was good at geography

This article is from 2011 but from what it says the stones could or should be cheaper than macca. Both acts seem too costly to me.
