Lineups are great and all but I think the comparison is really better when schedules are released. Someone who loves Governors Ball over Coach right now may hate the schedule when it comes out due to conflicts.
I thought there are no conflicts at Governors Ball?

very true. hoping governors ball releases a schedule before it sells out. that's a major factor in me buying a ticket for a fest that will be ending a day before i would be leaving for roo. that would be one awesome week and a half though.

Sometimes people will see a lineup and instantly not like it, but if it is the festival they are going to... they will like the lineup after staring at it for a day or 2. One might be an honest reaction, the other might be a glass half full reaction.

They announced this morning that the fest is expanding to 3 days. 70 acts, no conflicts... Crazy how this is turning into NYCs premiere music fest.
In previous years there were no conflicts.. This year their will be unfortunately.. I'm kind of worried about it since like I said Randall's Island isn't all that big.. Sound bleed might be an issue.

Yeah they did that last year too.. It turned out to be Kid Cudi.. Judging from the lineup this year I think we'll be getting somebody slightly more notable haha.

I didn't know Mumford & Sons was "interesting."
Depending on what Bonnaroo finishes up with, I may make Governor's Ball. It'd be so simple to go to for me, and the tickets are cheap. Could also be an easy way to fill in some conflicts from Coachella. Unless Bonnaroo goes absolutely nuts on their lineup and gives me some can't miss acts, it'll be Coachella/Governor's Ball/NFF.

What makes you think it's Mumford and Sons?? My guess is Yeah Yeah Yeahs..
Or really if you think about it GBall caters to EDM, Alternative, and Hip Hop.. They have an alternative and Hip Hop headliner, so by that logic the last headliner would have to come from the EDM genre... But who knows really. It could be Mumford, sure hope not though.

True. I wasn't going to Roo last year...then the schedule came out.
Last years schedule MADE you want to go to Roo last year? Did you look at the LN schedule as well? I thought last year they made some really terrible scheduling choices.

Yep. Umphreys LN Friday and Skrillex on sat was good w me. ESP since superjam started before Skrillex and ended well before Skrillex did.
When I saw the lineup I was like "meh" but when I realized I could literally see every band I wanted to I scrambled and got us there. Great deal on tix too. 260 total for 2

I am one who complained about the LN schedule last year, but ultimately ended up having a good time because of the way the schedule fell and who I was able to see. Alice Cooper, Skrillex, The Word, Spectrum Road, Superjam, and the late-night headliner, Unchained. Although I still wish they would have had someone on Which after Radiohead
And I saw some people getting great deals on tickets from the people on the side of the road by the winery, but 260 for 2 is fantastic. That's less than Buy One Get One Free!

The Bonnaroo schedule last year was an abortion. That is, by and far, their biggest weakness year after year. And I'm not talking about putting bigger names up against each other - that has to happen to split the crowd. More like giving bands prominent late nights that don't really need/deserve it, not utilizing the Which Stage enough (late night, Thursday), putting bands on during the day that really should be seen at night, putting bands on What that should be on Which and vice versa...scheduling can really be the thing that turns what many find to be an unfavorable lineup into something great (2010) or something great into a nightmare (2012).

You have a way with words. Calling the scheduling an abortion is quite funny, but probably true. It worked out well for me because I saw a couple of bands I wouldn't have seen if they had conflicted with other acts, but no reason for The Word or Spectrum Road to be at night and they blew it by wasting that Friday Which spot. Eventually I hope they come around to opening Which on Thursdays. The tents have been ridiculous the last two years due to the bigger Thursday crowds.
Seeing as how 2012 was my first year, what do you guys think they could have done with the LN acts last year. I'm talking what could they have done with who they booked to make it a better LN schedule. I'm genuinely interested.
Having SBTRKT late night would have been preferred. I like having bands like Umphrey's and The Word as late nights, and hip hop late nights are always fun. Its tough, but they could've shuffled some things around.
When they realized they had Unchained for a late night, they should have done all they could to swap them out with something more desired. They may have, we don't really know, but that will forever be a black eye on 2012.

I think Luda very easily could have been LN Which on Friday. Move SBTRKT to Saturday LN instead of Unchained. Saturday night needed something else as well, not enough options, and everything was winding down around 3:30.

Luda and SBTRKT are two that definitely could/should have been late nights. Luda's daytime tent was way too packed and could have benefited from a late night.

I keep thinking that McCartney is just holding both his hands to his chest and one of his hands is black. Also that Kanye has a weird suit jacket that has a fake white person hand on the shoulderpad.
